The northeast is full of a lot of people passionate about this band, and lots of people who love the band travel from all over to catch PJ here. NY / NJ, Philly, Boston-- I've been to all of them at different times. Every show I have been to have had great crowds, and the band has always brought it. I've been to 15 total, 14 of which were in these places, and one in DC in 2008 which was also a great show and a great crowd. To me, Pearl Jam falls somewhere squarely in the middle of Phish and Tool, and the 3 of them comprise my 3 favorite live bands, all of whom also are loved in the northeast. PJ's not a jam band, but they are a band that can jam pretty hard. Stone's solos were ridiculous at MSG 2 and Boston 1 this tour! I try and guess every song they play before they play it. If I am able to see their instruments and if I catch them strum a few warm up notes, and have been watching setlists from prior shows, I can guess the next song about half of the time. But I am also surprised by what they pull out plenty often. I've been a fan since 95 and love them more now than ever. We're all very lucky to have these guys around doing what they do and how well they do it!
Hartford is like Philly even though they do not go there as often. Ain't talking bout love. That outdoor venue sucks but if Hartford in on the list, I put in for it ahead of MSG.

2008 was such a great show. It was only my second ever but that setlist still holds up.
2013 was epic as well and I was fortunate to be in the pit
Fenway 2 was a blast, but not close to an all timer imo. There are many shows from 1994-2005 and from 2013-2014 that absolutely smoke it. I'd say 90% of the 1998 tour for starters...
"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."
Hartford 2010 was one of my faves, Probably somewhere in my top twenty. Hartford 2006 was one of the worst non festival shows I ve ever been to.
I went in 2010 and I was glad that I did.
The crowd, for me, is the crowd. Crowd has to really make me notice one way(loud/crazy, etc.) or the other(basically sitting on their hands, not seemed to be into the show, etc.)
Hartford 2010 was a good/fun show and that crowd bought it that night.
I get that post-concert endorphins are a hell of a drug, but saying any show on this tour was better than pre-pandemic PJ is pretty nutso
Thank you for saying it - every show now is “epic”!!!!!
I can listen to any random show prior to pandemic and I would trade it in a heartbeat for today’s set lists.
"Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."

Drop the pipe great shows but I can tell you without hesitation that many, many shows from 1996-2016 were all better than these - which were great but all time? Stop
Hartford 2010 was one of my faves, Probably somewhere in my top twenty. Hartford 2006 was one of the worst non festival shows I ve ever been to.
That 2006 show was awful. That crowd was completely dead, zero vibes. As a result I said I wouldn’t go back to Hartford, well I fucked up. That 2010 show was amazing…actually that whole May 2010 run was peak PJ

2016 Fenway N1 has to be their best Fenway show. The vibe was electric in that building for their first show there. 32 songs. Release + Long Road to open. It was another election year, so they pulled out an intense version of Masters of War. Down, Society, plus an amazing version of Black with all the flashlights and Bronson Arroyo sitting in (pic below). They played Strangest Tribe, for crying out loud! Great fucking show.

Nailed it. Though I’d start with ‘94 and end at 2014. But yeah in that 20 year span 85% of the shows crush anything we’ve seen since. Doesn’t mean shows aren’t still a blast- it just would’ve been impossible to sustain that level of greatness forever.

I'd say Hartford crowds are made up largely of diehards from Boston area and diehards from NYC area with a few diehards from Philly area and the only casual fans are those who are local CT folks. So, the crowd has a far smaller percentage of casuals than shows in the bigger markets. Has made for some great crowds and great shows in that city.
I'm sorry but there have been no "All Timers" this tour. Watch Ohana crush that statement.

Nah, keep going to Fenway 2016 because those shows were epic. The other Fenway shows were excellent but 2016 was another level.
