The northeast is full of a lot of people passionate about this band, and lots of people who love the band travel from all over to catch PJ here. NY / NJ, Philly, Boston-- I've been to all of them at different times. Every show I have been to have had great crowds, and the band has always brought it. I've been to 15 total, 14 of which were in these places, and one in DC in 2008 which was also a great show and a great crowd. To me, Pearl Jam falls somewhere squarely in the middle of Phish and Tool, and the 3 of them comprise my 3 favorite live bands, all of whom also are loved in the northeast. PJ's not a jam band, but they are a band that can jam pretty hard. Stone's solos were ridiculous at MSG 2 and Boston 1 this tour! I try and guess every song they play before they play it. If I am able to see their instruments and if I catch them strum a few warm up notes, and have been watching setlists from prior shows, I can guess the next song about half of the time. But I am also surprised by what they pull out plenty often. I've been a fan since 95 and love them more now than ever. We're all very lucky to have these guys around doing what they do and how well they do it!0

Hartford is like Philly even though they do not go there as often. Ain't talking bout love. That outdoor venue sucks but if Hartford in on the list, I put in for it ahead of MSG.0

Fenway 2 was a blast, but not close to an all timer imo. There are many shows from 1994-2005 and from 2013-2014 that absolutely smoke it. I'd say 90% of the 1998 tour for starters..."What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."0

The crowd, for me, is the crowd. Crowd has to really make me notice one way(loud/crazy, etc.) or the other(basically sitting on their hands, not seemed to be into the show, etc.)
Hartford 2010 was a good/fun show and that crowd bought it that night.0 -
JBob87 said:I get that post-concert endorphins are a hell of a drug, but saying any show on this tour was better than pre-pandemic PJ is pretty nutso
I can listen to any random show prior to pandemic and I would trade it in a heartbeat for today’s set lists."Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."0 -
