Id be going to that for the experience of seeing PJ at the sphere and not for the surprise factor. If they did the weekend only format (Friday and Sunday) for let’s say 4-6 weeks, I’d probably just try and hit one weekend and call it goodMight be “boring” for some/many 10c fans but I think overall the Vegas crowd would appreciate it.0 -
My guess is any tour next year (except for the Sphere) will be a bit more variable set list wise compared to this year. That short 2023 4 city tour had much more varied setlists than the 2022 world dates (which were more Gigaton focused)0

Since when did so many PJ fans become such whiners? First, way too many people complaining about ticket prices when PJ is still priced far below similar caliber acts. Their merch is also cheaper than any act that plays arenas. Now people can't stop whining about setlists because there are some repeats between 2 shows in the same city. The tour is in support of Dark Matter, they are bound to play couple of those songs both nights. They are also bound to repeat a couple of their bigger songs (usually no more than 2-3 per night) each night. PJ has many casual fans. There were plenty of people in Philly, NY and Chicago who could only attend 1 of the 2 shows. It's the grateful dead or phish crowds where half of them will go from show to show. They are doing the best they can to make hardcore and casual fans happy and I think they are doing a great job. Most acts that tour play almost identical sets every night and yet some people here will complain that 2 shows had 5 repeats out of 50 songs played.0

I’m (somewhat) surprised how they’ve spread out the Dark Matter songs over two nights as the tour has progressed. Lots of overlap during leg 1 but most DM songs only get played once during in each city with two shows - assuming the song get performed at all!0

I can’t see the band playing more
than a couple sphere shows if at all. Doesn’t seem up their alley, so to speak0 -
I could see myself going to at least 4 Sphere shows. But I live close to Vegas so that def factors in.I'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning0

I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.0

I guess I was thinking something like…
1. Release / Oceans (Long Road)
2. Small Town / Nothingman
3. Immortality / Lowlight
4. Given To Fly (locked)
5. In Hiding / Present Tense
6. Go / Last Exit
7. Hail Hail / Animal
8. Corduroy (locked)
9. Daughter (locked)
10. Even Flow (locked)
11. Wishlist / Light Years
12. Garden / Breath
13. State / Deep
14. Not For You / NAIS
15. Jeremy (locked)
16. RVM / Porch
17. Slow tune… Off He Goes? Footsteps?
18. Better Man (locked)
19. Evolution (locked)
20. Once / Why Go
21. Black (locked)22. Alive (locked)
23. RITFW / Baba
24. YLB
It’s a lazy Sunday and I’m just “spit balling” here while I flake out on the couch while NFL highlights play in the background. And yes indeed, I’m missing too many great tunes here (eg, Dissident, STBC, In My Tree, Brain of J) and seem to have ignored anything post Binaural… which, understandably, might be a problem for some/many. However, if they had to keep things relatively “set” for a few pairs of weekend Sphere performances, I think this might be reasonable.0 -
I think the Sphere needs consistency for it to work...
I'm not sure how Phish/the Dead did it, but U2 played 22-23 songs a night and only played about 25 DIFFERENT songs in total throughout the whole run. Most nights were pretty consistent with the setlist and visuals, and there wasn't any rhyme or reason to how the additional songs got rotated. In there set they broke from playing Achtung Baby to play 5 songs that had 0 visuals and were mostly light based. PJ could probably follow the same formula, but it would be way easier to play an album all the way through each night where each of those songs get visuals.
I've also seen industry rumors that the Sphere is only allowing RESIDENCES from bands they KNOW will draw an audience. Which isn't rocket science.
1 or 2 shows isn't gunna be a thing for awhile, and even if it was the ticket prices would be insane. People are complaining about this years per-ticket cost, when i haven't been able to find a Sphere ticket for the Eagles upcoming residency for less than $270 PER ticket, no matter where you sit.KN219077 said:I can’t see the band playing more

Yes, back to Toronto.
Toronto in the spring is beautiful...
Cool evenings, fresh tulips, no hockey to worry about... and Bellwoods or steamwhistle close by... Why wouldn't PJ come play a pair of shows?
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

If they did this, I wouldn’t be surprised if every show started with a front-to-back run through of Dark Matter, followed by a second set/extended encore composed mostly of the standards and maybe one curveball + one Eddie solo cover per night (again not dissimilar from what they’ve been doing all year).Camden 2 2006, Newark 2010, Barclays 2 2013, Central Park 2015, MSG 2 2016, Wrigley 1 2016, Rome 2018, Prague 2018, Asbury Park 2021, EV & Earthlings NYC 1 2022, MSG 2022, Louisville 2022, Dublin 2024, MSG 1 2024, MSG 2 20240

I seem to be in the minority, and will openly admit that I can't stand Vegas, but PJ at the Sphere makes no sense to me at all. They are not a "visuals heavy" act, I mean we have this giant screen on the current tour and they barely use it for anything interesting outside of the 30 year old DTE video, video of the band, and some random squiggles. Do we really think they are gonna develop two hours of unique visuals to play the Sphere a few times? And if they do, cause money talks, do we really think it will be better than seeing them in say, Philly? With a bunch of drunken idiots there on comp tickets for getting lucky at roulette?

I would be somewhat surprised if they played the Sphere. U2 did it so that might inspire them. The current tour has more visuals than usual so that could be applied. They like the paydays and it is kind of a new musical art form. I would not go. I am not a fan of Vegas. But they are touring now and they usually take a break after a tour so my expectations for 2025 are low.0
