I don't think I'm ready for the era where 7 repeats is qualified by "only"0

Did anyone get a good pic of RITFW after everyone had switched instruments so jeff and Matt were banging on tambourines and singing? It really looked like everyone on the stage was having the best time!0

This was my first show at MSG and I thought the band sounded tight and Ed's voice was great. Was in section 209 and the sound was really good up there. I enjoyed having Andrew Watt come on stage and play. This guy produced the best PJ album they've had in a while and I felt that he has brought a new energy and vitality to the band. Some bands keep doing the same shit over and over but this band really tries to keep evolving and changing and sometimes there are missteps but I'd hate to be listening to recycled songs over and over.
Section 209 was rocking pretty hard and I heard some bros complaining about the political stuff but I appreciate that about this band. Its great hearing men speaking out on behalf of women and offering up such vocal support. I know when I take my daughter to Philly N1 that she'll appreciate that support as well.
On a final note, as much as I've always been one to stand an entire show and have been to shows where I was told to sit down, I needed to sit quite a bit at this show because I just finished cancer treatments. Just remember that you never know what another person is going through. And to the guy standing next to me that was rocking so hard that he bumped me all night, I appreciate your numerous apologies but I loved seeing how much fun you were having that even those small bumps throughout the night made me feel part of something bigger than myself! Through all my treatments this past year, I have lived by one thought - don't say no to anything but yes to everything!
See you guys in Philly tomorrow! Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

My milestone 20th show spanning 29 years, and I finally got LEASH!! That was my highlight. I can never complain about a PJ setlist. Sure some are better than others but oh well. It's still my favorite band after all these decades. To be at the MSG once again was magical. The raw power of the city as the backdrop was as perfect as one might expect. Good energy up in 225 although I am still perplexed how in 2016 TC put me in the 100s but this go-round and as a single ticket, I ended upstairs. Lots of over-served folks near me (particularly a lady in the aisle screaming Let's Go Rangers and spilling beer on folks🙄) and guys filming with their spotlight on. Don't folks know that does nothing to help? Especially from that far. But regardless, I still had a blast and can't wait for my two hometown shows at Fenway later this month!!Austin, TX - 9/16/95 ~ Charleston, SC - 10/5/96 ~ Dallas, TX - 7/5/98 ~ San Antonio, TX - 4/5/03 ~ Denver, CO - 7/2/06 ~ EV - LA #2 - 4/13/08 ~ Austin, TX - 10/4/09 ~ Los Angeles, CA #1 - 11/23/13 ~ Los Angeles, CA #2 - 11/24/13 ~ Seattle, WA - 12/6/13 ~ NYC #1 - 5/1/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 8/5/16 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 8/7/16 ~ Boston, MA #1 - 9/2/18 ~ Boston, MA #2 - 9/4/18 ~ Louisville, KY - 9/17/22 ~ Ft. The grass is always greener. Sometimes they do add that one song or two and it feels a bit contrived or out of place. I kind of felt that way about Leash. At this point it is what it is. Starting on stools, slow encores etc. I loved that Patriot. I was hoping to hear Rats. Oh well. There is not one song on that list I did not enjoy.0 -

It was a great show, I was in section 120, but agree with some of the comments about the encore. My analogy of the show was a basketball game. It felt like you went to your favorite basketball team's game, they got out to a massive 20 point lead at halftime (set 1) with the crowded going wild. In the 3rd quarter (first 1/2 of the encore), the other team cut the lead down to 5, and the crowded died a bit and everyone was nervous. Then in the 4th quarter (second 1/2 of the encore), they kill it and end up winning by 15. Great show!Murphy0
