Thanks for posting these great photos. We were in section K, so I have no straight on shots. Should I be able to click on an image and get a larger copy of it? Perhaps my decade old laptop can't do it? Is screenshoting these great pics the best way to do it? *Thanks, again, for sharing.

That was an absolute banger of a show! The first 8 songs were off 7 different albums. I tend to stray away from coming onto this forum after shows due to people being too negative about the set list, the people around them, or the venue. I had a blast, show 13 for me, got to check off a few more first time lives (immortality being one I was chasing for a minute). See you all Saturday night.
    Dude that Immortality.  Amazing show!

When it comes to the unique moments from last night's show, I think you have to start with how deeply moved Ed seemed to be on the stage in Wrigley Field this time around, and that was apparent in many ways--from the emotion in his voice during the stories he told, to acknowledging his miscues in the first few songs were because he was having an "out of body experience".  I found the candor, the humility, and the authenticity endearing.

The other unique moment was the fan being pulled on stage to sing Won't Tell.  You gotta give that girl her flowers because she did amazingly well.  By the end of the song she seemed very comfortable in front of 50,000+ people on stage with legends.

Now I haven't been to too many Pearl Jam shows, but in comparison to the ones I have, last night Mike McCready was the best I have ever seen him.  Just ridiculously good, no matter the song.  Him and Matt were locked in so many times, putting the "Jam" in Pearl Jam, trading licks with fire and fury while Stone kept the pocket tight. And Jeff stole the back half of the show for me as he was dropping those sick bass lines with *chef's kiss* perfection.

All in all, like most fans, I hope for certain songs and could take or leave others, but at the end of the day I simply want to see/hear a band that is bringing it every song (knowing full well some days it comes easy and some days it's not in the cards). I felt like I was witnessing everybody on stage bringing it every song last night, so I walked away grateful for the experience.

(ps. this is my first time reviewing a show so please go easy on me.  this post will expire on Sept 10th)

    Beautifully written summary here.

Wish we’d gotten this setlist in Indy. Looks WAY better.
  • 26th show spread over 26 years. Section P, dead center. 10Club only section it seemed.

8th time Off He Goes, but most emotional. Like it was the first time I heard it. Ed referenced somebody that passed a few years back… could have been Chris, or not. But it was a powerful version.

I knew I loved Setting Sun, but that second half of the song shoots straight into the top 10, may be top 5, of live moments from their catalog. It’s haunting.

Waiting for Stevie was all worth the wait, but not sure it will make it to subsequent tour (already no more songs from Gigaton). So go chase it on this tour.

Has Eddie been more animated recently?
Seems in May he was slow moving, nursing some sorta old man injury.

I'm talking about how in May it seemed Eddie Vedder was a little reserved and slow moving. So now present day being August, I was wondering if he's been a bit more active.

He's the lead singer in Pearl Jam if that's what's tripping you up.

I didn’t see any of the spring shows, so can’t personally compare. But this week he was quite active, moving easily back and forth between the main stage and small front platform in Indy and all around the front of the stage.

Well thank you for jumping into to say you're fully unqualified to comment on the matter.

Awesome show right from the start with Release! Only thing that could have topped it would have been Indifference after RITFW. Can't wait for night 2!
They haven't played Indifference in Chicago in 18 years.  They have played Down twice in the last 12 months.  I'm dying to see Indifference again.  I have been to 25 shows and only saw it once.
I'm "only" at 13 shows (incl night 2) and Indifference has become my white whale song. I've been fortunate enough to see some great sets, but I cannot believe that in 13 shows, I've seen Bugs and the full album of No Code, but not Indifference.

Overall, I thought this was a fantastic show. This was my 12th show, and I brought my niece/god-daughter with me for her first PJ show. She was hoping to hear several songs from Ten, notably Black and Release....so I have to say that seeing her face break into a smile and her excitement at the start of the show when the first notes of Release played was one of my personal favorite moments from any PJ show I've been to...pretty close to the first time I heard Release (at night 1 of PJ20) and got chills as the crowd along. Sharing the experience with someone that was so genuinely excited to be there elevated the show for me, too.
