Agreed. The album is so good you can easily split it at a two night stand.

Little bit of a mixed bag for me last night.  On the positive side mother nature did her part... McCready was as good as I've ever seen him, I don't understand it but he continues to get better and better.  Stone, Jeff, and Matt all looked like they were having a blast up there.  Overall fun set list.  The new stuff really does sound great live!

Something seemed a little "off" with Eddie.  I don't know if maybe he enjoyed himself a little too much before the show but flubbing Of The Girl (it happens), his speaking was disjointed especially early on the in show.  Stopping Why Go in the middle - I get it he saw the medics with the flashing red things and is sensitive to crowd safety which I get, but the flashing sticks is a regular occurance at shows that doesn't generally stop the show.  Obviously safety of everyone is paramount, just thought it was weird.

Still a ton of fun and always blessed to see another PJ show.  Looking forward to Saturday - generally I've always found night 2 of these big stadium shows to be better.
Couldn’t disagree with this more. I don’t think Eddie sounded any different than he normally does. He always talks and stutters through his crowd dialogue. Other than one small part in Of The Girl he didn’t have any song mishaps and he had PLENTY of energy. And his energy seemed to get stronger as the show continued. Also never going to fault him for stopping a show when he thinks he sees something dangerous. They have a little PTSD with crowd safety and rightfully so…
Agree 100%. The band has great energy. It's so fun watching Stone move around as much as he is, and they are all smiling. Clearly having fun and enjoying playing.

You think it’s weird Eddie stopped the show to make sure everyone was ok? Are you serious?

Great set. Great show. Mike has been fire all year!
Please, please can we retire RITFW.
8 out of 20 shows for me is way too much.

Fantastic show, pit was rockin!  Release is my favorite opener so it started great, and just got better from there.  Neat to hear Ed say “State?” to the other band members before they ripped that one. Nice to meet Jay and Adriel if you’re out there.  A dude fell out and had to be wheeled away, hope he’s doing alright too!  He missed most of the show 🙁

Just picked up the setlist t-shirt and will be getting it sweaty on Saturday!

I didn't feel like Eddie was off. I noticed a little bit of a flub during Of The Girl but it didn't take away from the song any for me. I'm not a big fan of it to begin with though. As far as the story telling, he has had a hard time spitting out what he wants to say for quite a while now. I should know, I am the same way.  :) I'm not a big fan of the long talking but it is what it is. When I buy the boots I just edit it out on my MacBook.
I also heard that he speaks more often now to catch a breather. He is almost 60.

    Last night was stellar.

Not much to add to what others have said, just want to add a positive voice to counterbalance against the gripes.

Loved the opening 4, have wanted to hear "Of The Girl" forever.  Loved the main set.  Mike went absolutely scorched earth on a few numbers, just draw dropping.  Loved the encore.  Easily one of the most joyous renditions of RITFW I've experienced; could feel the energy from all directions because everyone knew it was safe to empty the tank and just let it rip.

The new songs sounded great.  Still having a hard time adjusting to loving a band going on 34 years together, being deeply acquainted with their catalog and live shows, and being THIS excited to hear the NEW shit.  When was the last time this happened?!

My ten club seats were pretty sweet (2nd row behind Cubs dugout).  Interesting mix of people around me, lots of people there for the music.  Most of the crowd that I could see was INTO IT all night long, always refreshing. From my vantage point, the energy was palpable start to finish.

Could have done without the foursome in the row in front of me who apparently came just to talk to each other, but whatever.

I'm in the minority on this one, but I really enjoy RITFW. I like the song, but they just seem to have so much fun playing it, especially when they bring others out with them, like Glen's band last night. I have seen it 8 of 21.

Okay, the first couple times. I just hope it stays at 8 for both of us after Saturday.

I am with you on this with my whole being.

It’s a tribute to and a celebration of what brought us together. That it also happens to be a raucous banger puts it over the top.

I am also sitting at 8 (of 12) going into Saturday.  I love it.  It's just an infectious and joyful song.  Heard Lucinda Williams and her band play it at Codfish Hallow Barnstormers (a must-go-to music venue in rural Iowa) at the start of the summer and I just smiled thinking of PJ - and Uncle Neil.

They don't usually play it two nights in a row but this has been a weird tour.

Awesome show right from the start with Release! Only thing that could have topped it would have been Indifference after RITFW. Can't wait for night 2!
They haven't played Indifference in Chicago in 18 years.  They have played Down twice in the last 12 months.  I'm dying to see Indifference again.  I have been to 25 shows and only saw it once.

I thought the same exact thing.  Eddie seemed especially emotional; more so than I remember from any past Wrigley shows.   I'm sure Chicago (or Evanston/Skokie) has a lot of ghosts that he has to revisit.  It shows his human side
