Isn't all that matters is what the delegates decide at the DNC? My impression is that the primary leading up to the DNC is to "weed out" candidates who seemingly won't stand a chance. I don't see how that's a requirement.teskeinc said:

I just don't get it. It's not like my parents were big politicos or whatever, and I certainly learned some not-so-great things that I had to recover from, but I always was taught it's important to vote and make your voice heard. I was registered right when I turned 18. Not super proud of some of my young-years votes but I at least showed up. I mean, seriously, you are over 18 and you're not voting?!?!? And then to complain about whoever gets elected - just shut the hell up already.0 -

Would be interesting to know if Biden would have said he wasn’t seeking re-election last year and voters had their say in an open primary who would have came out as the nominee. With Harris favorability so low around that time I have a hard time believing it would have been her.Glorified KC said:

And what if Trump would have stepped aside last year? Maybe conservatives wouldn't need to whine about the situation flipping on end once the people were given a better choice. Voters are legitimately excited and energized about a candidate for the first time in over a decade. None of the what ifs matter, Harris has the support and the only one's who don't like it seem to be those that weren't voting for Biden and definitely won't be voting for Harris. Isn't that odd? I think it scares them a lot because they know their candidate is weak and not motivating to the majority of conservatives outside the MAGA base.teskeinc said:

Republicans overwhelmingly selected Trump. He didn’t even show up to the debates. You’re watching too much Morning Joe if you think Trump is a weak candidate. Trump dominated the polls so much the elites had to replace Biden. Harris obviously has sparked the party to rally around her but now the swing states that Trump led 3-5% have tightened to all within margin of error.tbergs said:

I agree in that incumbents to have low favorability ratings and Harris qualifies as an incumbent.
Also, our presidential elections are very long, almost 2 years, so voters definitely get fatigued even more so from incumbents.
This is like an end around of the political process , where Harris is in the spotlight for a very short time, is riding an immense popularity wave right now.
I don't think we've seen enthusiasm like this on the Democratic side since 2008. Give her credit she is dominated the news cycle for weeks, something Trump used to be a master at.
Trump has been defined as weird, slow and he comes across tired often when he speaks. I think he's very concerned right now0 -

You like to throw out Morning Joe like some like to throw out Fox News. I don't watch cable news and don't even have a television subscription for anything. I get my news from Reuters, AP and WaPo. Trump is a weak candidate. Open your eyes. When Biden was still in the race, I thought he was weak so thankfully he's out now. Trump is the worst candidate that's ever been nominated to any presidential ticket, both personally and politically. What an embarrassment. It's weird you think he's a good candidate. Not sure what positive he brings to the GOP ticket.teskeinc said:

Main stream media is focused on everything that is not about Harris’ record. It’s a concerted effort to not talk about her past. Promoting a moderate future and to paint Trump as “weird”. It may work. Republicans job will be holding her accountable for far left statements and the mishandling of the border. If they can paint her as too “far left” it will be real hard to win enough swing states.Lerxst1992 said:teskeinc said:

Donald Trump is an unamerican, obese, old lunatic, who tried to prevent his successor from taking office. Trump should drop out and spend this time mentally preparing for prison.

It may work. Republicans job will be holding her accountable for far left statements and the mishandling of the border. If they can paint her as too “far left” it will be real hard to win enough swing states.Lerxst1992 said:teskeinc said:
Would be interesting to know if Biden would have said he wasn’t seeking re-election last year and voters had their say in an open primary who would have came out as the nominee. With Harris favorability so low around that time I have a hard time believing it would have been her.Glorified KC said:
Isn't all that matters is what the delegates decide at the DNC? My impression is that the primary leading up to the DNC is to "weed out" candidates who seemingly won't stand a chance. I don't see how that's a requirement.teskeinc said:
The Democrats literally have a candidate that no one voted for in a primary. 2020 or 2024. I guess she’s technically not a candidate yet and Clooney and Pelosi could change it again before their convention.tbergs said:
Which ticket has the "elites" running for office? Might want to check your notes...teskeinc said:Democratic elites can pick the candidates for you but they can’t force you to vote.
I think he's very concerned right now
more of the criminal to speak on since legislatively he's a little thin...Because you’ve been busy attacking helpless fans making seniority jokes at Obama rallies
