Will we ever see a show of 30 songs again?

    no , never.

its pretty clear when Ed caught covid in 2020/2021 it was pretty dead serious and it left his immune system pretty bang up. thats why he gets sick pretty easily (see cancel shows in europe 2022 and 2024).

WAIT! Are you the doctor of Edoardo? :D
ed went on record with the interview with apple music around the release of earthlings that when he got covid was pretty dead serious and he was very seriously ill. that leaves a mark when u´re getting old.

All your US leg 2 shows will be around 25 songs. It’s the new norm.

It's cool. Can't wait to see them in Philly & Baltimore this September.

Well Stone recently said in an interview that they are playing shorter shows now for their own well-being and longevity.  So unless they can cram 30 songs into a 2.5 hour set, I'd say it's highly unlikely lol.  He also said he wouldn't want to go to a 3 hour show either.  Speak for yourself, Stone!!

The optimist in me sees this as a sign that they want to keep going and making music and playing shows. Maybe if they had kept up the pace from 2013-2018, they wouldn't be around much longer.

They could play 30 songs again. If only they could play more shorter songs then longer songs.

It's gonna be tough to take out Alive, Even Flow & Porch from their set and replace them with say (from Lost Dogs) .. All Night, Down, In The Moonlight, Hitchhiker, Alone, Undone, Don't Gimme No Lip, Leaving Here, Bee Girl, Drifting, Undone, U, Education ..

Songs that are under 3:30 minutes.

  • I’m just grateful that we had a solid 25 on the most recent US run, rather than the 22-23 we saw in most of 2022.

For people thinking they might go longer on special occasions, I’d just note that post covid, no last show of a tour, no hometown show, no favorite city show, etc., has been notably longer than any of the others. I think this is just the length they do now. And while I never got to go to one of the marathon shows, I’ve seen 8 shows in the last 4 years and have never left one feeling short changed.

I feel like they went back to their pre 2013 norm.  3 hour shows are probably back to being a special occasion thing, opposed to a consistent thing?

The most recent tour was fantastic as it was, i didnt leave the shows feeling I needed more, I was on cloud nine on what I had witnessed. If we keep getting the 25 song sets into the future id be more than happy

and I could never ever get tired of hearing black at a show.......NEVER

25 is good enough.  But mindset is now to just enjoy the ride and be happy with hits filled setlists, with the deep cuts now being Wishlist and Animal outside of the slow start .   Pointless to see five shows in a row trying to chase certain songs.

That said, Fort Worth and Austin had some great sets.

I can live with less than 30+, but I do miss the odds of getting ultra rare songs in a set. I know that what I said is a selfish comment, but I've been hella spoiled with PJ sets over the years.

With a cap of 25 songs, think we will ever get a full album show, again?

Standard tours will be what we got in 2024, 25 songs or so.

To get to the legendary 30+ song setlists, the rare gem songs, it would take something like a Pearl Jam Week event, hence why I'm trying to manifest it.  I'd love to attend some legendary shows, and that will require something outside of a standard tour.

I know Ive stated this elsewhere (heck, maybe even a few pages back in this thread) but even if they don’t do the ultra rare stuff, it’d be nice if they played more of the less popular 90s album tracks more frequently …eg, Last Exit, Hail Hail, Brain of J. Those tunes should be played every third/fourth show.
