I didn't appreciate this back then but I do now. What a great song/album. I somehow developed a love for Roy Orbison. I saw a live performance of him on TV and was captivated hence the new found love for this.darthvedder said:0

Bit the Traveling Wilburys really got it together and did some great, enduring work!Another top notch "super group" from the 80s was The Highwaymen. Their first album, Highwayman, is excellent and produced some great work:

He was a huge Beatles and Orbison fan. It's sad Roy passed away shortly after Vol. 1 came out, but the guitar in the rocking chair in this video is a nice tribute. The 80s aren't complete without Genesis.

Accept song Balls to the Wall
I still dig this. Early hair metal had some teeth to it. This is one of those songs. https://youtu.be/B_3TlrZLpQ0?si=LrHqcXhF9oC74Q4T https://youtu.be/B_3TlrZLpQ0?si=LrHqcXhF9oC74Q4T

That's embarrassing Genesis though. Their 70s stuff and the Genesis album in the early 80s was way better.darthvedder said:tempo_n_groove said:

I've always had kind of a crush on Cyndi Lauper. She's one cool lady as well!

GRACE UNDER PRESSURE....the album that started my madness with RUSH. I had heard of the band when a friend played 2112. I listened 🎶 and I remember saying, what the hell was that side 1, it was brilliant and so different like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. I then put the band on the back burner for years listening, following their music till 1984. I decided to see them live on the GUP Tour. I was blown away, as they seem to blow the roof off of the 14k Hampton Coliseum, Hampton VA. I was hooked from that moment till the last time I saw them live 49 shows later at Tampa FL 2015. They're STILL to this day my #1 Rock band. Oh it's my all-time favorite album with my favorite song all-timeOriginal_Shifty said:Neil fucking Peart.
