Yes, yes I do. I look forward to a 75 year old Eddie screaming the lyrics to Lukin III, hopefully an even faster version of the original song.wnh1977 said:
Do you really want a guy pushing 60 to yell at you to get out of his fucking face? Why rehash what's been done? AC/DC is there for you if you want the same formula over and over.MikeDigs said:Uh oh. This isn't what I was expecting.
I'm going to listen to Leash now to cleanse my ears and restore balance.
And AC/DC has rocked from day one and will rock until they're all done, and that is why their catalog is more popular than Pearl Jam's...at least to the majority of true 'rock' fans.
I have yet to dislike a PJ album (not counting first listens of the 'weird' Vitalogy and No Code), and I hope this album keeps that streak going...but I will admit I'm a bit worried after single #3 (not a huge fan of single #2 either).Tweeter Center - Aug 29, 2000;Tweeter Center - Aug 30, 2000;Allstate Arena - Oct 09, 2000;Pepsi Arena - Apr 29, 2003;Bryce-Jordan Center - May 03, 2003;Bell Center - Jun 29, 2003;Tweeter Center - Jul 02, 2003;Tweeter Center - Jul 03, 2003;Tweeter Center - Jul 11, 2003;Tweeter Center at the Waterfront - Jul 05, 2003;Tweeter Center at the Waterfront - Jul 06, 2003;Madison Square Garden - Jul 08, 2003;Madison Square Garden - Jul 09, 2003;TD Banknorth Garden - May 24, 2006;TD Banknorth Garden - May 25, 2006;Fleet Center - Sept 28, 2004;Fleet Center - Sept 29, 2004;Pepsi Arena - May 12, 2006 New England Dodge Music Arena - May 13, 2006;Grant Park - Aug 05, 2007;Bonnaroo - Jun 14, 2008;Dodge Music Center - Jun 27, 2008;Tweeter Center - Jun 28, 2008;Tweeter Center - Jun 30, 2008; XL Arena - May 15, 2010;TD Garden - May 17, 2010;Alpine Valley Music Theatre - Sept 03, 2011;Alpine Valley Music Theatre - Sep 04, 2011 Corel Centre - Sep 16, 2005;Colisee Pepsi Arena - Sep 20, 2005; Wrigley Field - July 19, 2013; DCU Center - Oct 15, 2013; DCU Center - Oct 16, 2013; Fenway Park - August 5, 2016; Fenway Park - August 7, 2016; NOS Alive Festival - July 14, 2018; Boston - September 02, 2018; Boston - September 04, 2018; Boston - September 15, 2024; Boston - September 17, 2024

It is close but different. Fast car's verse is Cmaj7-G-Em-D (played with a capo on 2nd fret in Chapman's version and 1st fret in Luke Comb's version) and Wreckage is G-Bm-G-Bm-G-Bm-Em-D.SVRDhand13 said:

The instrumental bridge reminds me of December by Collective Soul. They’re both descending patterns that go from G to F on the low e string.pjpjpaul said:

Like its one thing to say, "Hey I dont like it, but whatever". But you are literally responding to someone's positive post about it. Not mad, just dont understand the desire to continue to beat a dead horse.Turn this anger into

And also: it has been out for a day. Maybe give it a week before rushing to the internet to declare "Worst. Song. Ever."Vedd Hedd said:

Sure that too. But I mean, I have not liked songs right off the bat in the past, too. I never was on board with Buckle Up. I liked some of the lyrics, but musically, it's not something I would really listen to. But some people enjoyed it, I just never would respond with, "nope it sucks!".BF25394 said:

Whatever, live and let live I would say. If someone is enjoying the crap out of something, let them. Life is too short to be pissing in anyone's cornflakes.Turn this anger into

I think we're basically saying the same thing. And I'm with you on the "Buckle Up" lyrics: I'm naming my next album Bedsores and Sponge Baths.Vedd Hedd said:

Buckle Up is second to only Johnny Guitar in terms all time great Pearl Jam songs.
This is not up for debate.www.myspace.com0 -
Right. It's one thing to not be feeling a song. Nobody likes everything. When I come across a song or thread like that, I generally say, "I'm not really enjoying this one but I'm glad others are." Major Comic Book Guy energy to a lot of the criticism on this thread. It's annoying. Just let people be excited.

Hardly anyone here can write even one good song but they are quick to say a certain PJ song sucks even though these guys are super talented and legit hall of fame musicians. It’s comical.slightofjeff said:Right. It's one thing to not be feeling a song. Nobody likes everything. If it hasn't already been mentioned, I just realized where I have heard Stone's chord progression for "Wreckage" before: "Learning to Fly" by Tom Petty.
Edit: I see that it has already been mentioned.Post edited by bicyclejoe onMy Pearl Jam Road: 10/22/90 Seattle | 12/22/90 Seattle, Moore Theater | 9/29/92 Seattle, Magnusson Park, Drop in the Park | 9/5/93 The Gorge, with Neil Young and Blind Melon | 7/20/06 Portland, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall with Sleater-Kinney | 7/22/06 The Gorge, 10/21/06 Mountain View, Shoreline Ampitheatre, Bridge School Benefit | 9/21/09 Seattle | 9/22/09 Seattle | 9/26/09 Portland, OR | 7/14/2011 Eddie Vedder, Portland, OR | 11/29/13 Portland, OR0
