Majority of the album is in the Springstee/Petty/Young range. With Earthling production.

That's not even close to how it's been described by members of the band themselves or many who have listened.
Stone will be telling you (via the Kyle Meredith interview on the 17th) how much The Cure influenced this album.
Of course, production wise, yeah Earthling - but we all knew that would be the case with Watt producing.
Well, you'll see (or rather hear) on 4/19.

Man that sounds super promising. The chorus (?) part with the background vocals is really beautiful. I feel like Michael Scott in the office today, listening to the music sample over and over again lol.

I’m getting a Debbie Gibson only in my dreams vibe.

Sounds like I have heard this Eddie Vedder-song and vocal before.
(not a bad thing in itself)
I had the same thought. Sounded predictable, like I've heard it before. Like I could hum along even though it was my first time listening. But like you said, doesn't mean it's a bad song and don't mean it as a complaint. I want to hear the full song.
A bit of a swingy betterman. I think I like this one, which makes me 3 for 4 so far on the stuff we have heard. 2 for 2 on the full releases, 1 for 2 on the 30 second clips, but need to hear those fully to properly judge.
Waiting for Stevie is the one song so many of us are dying to hear. I’ve never heard so many different reviews/journalists/fans/Stone hype it up as a total callback to early stuff
I think they are getting their "you didnt expect these" sounds of the the way. The last 2 songs probably would sound a bit stark within the concept of the album. By releasing those early, you expect them, and its less of a transition, maybe. Just thoughts.

I'm 2 from 4 but that's in keeping with my original observations of hearing the album. Half good half not for me.
