  • It's awesome To see that 17 win. And a great run by Biffle as well.

I actually don't mind Junior that much, I have more respect for him then I did for his dad. Junior at least admits when he is in the wrong. But when you listen to him talk to his crew on the radio compared to other top runners, you get the impression he just doesn't know the car inside at out. Especially when comparing to Carl Edwards, Kenseth, Biffle, both Busch brothers, Gordon, Johnson to name a few. Those guys just no those cars inside and out and what every adjustment will do.

I've said it a million times, Junior is fast only when he is in a fast car. He can't take a average car and get it up front. But hey he attracts fans and sponsors, so he will always have a top ride.

Now can we get rid of a few stupid rules i'll be happy... Lucky Dog rule, the top 35 rule. No provisional should be allowed. Bring back 2nd day qualifying and take the 43 quickest cars.

so why do they keep saying everyone hates the two car tandem racing that we saw last year? i thought that shit was fun. this single file pack racing is for the birds.

The average viewer likes to see big wrecks. Honestly they do. If every plate race was like that make up at Talladega years ago where they went without a caution, you would hear everyone bitch that they are boring.

I thought the 2 car stuff was more interesting then the pack racing. But I come from the background of being around and building race cars, and i realize how much money and work goes into one. When I see a wreck that takes out multiple cars i just cringe.

I prefer to see guys drive the freaking cars. Like it was intended. Pull off the plates, and get rid of all the down force, and make them use their brakes and things would be interesting. But it would end up a larger version of Michigan or California. And people don't like that, even though I've scene some really good races at those tracks.

I'd like to see a couple 1 mile races at tracks like Iowa and phoenix, and another two 1/2 mile tracks.

i like the idea of using brakes.

i'm ok with the downforce...the thing i don't like, is we currently have a spec race and on these big tracks, it's put the pedal to the floor and cruise. i'd like to see them race "real" cars. let the teams put on different noses, and bodies. bring the creativity back and reward teams for trying new stuff vs. this cookie cutter approach that makes most races a snoozefest.

outside of the fire, that was one of the most boring daytona 500's ever.

The drawback is you'd be back to 1 or 2 cars in contention for a win each week. And the rest just out "riding" around.

it would defiantly split the field up...but it wouldn't be one or two cars. gotta figure all of X brand cars would have an advantage. as it stands now, my desire to watch is getting lower and lower by the year. i used to watch the first half of the season, now it's a race here and their with the decline starting when the went with the COT.

  • I don't think the COT bothers me, or common templates. The announcers drive me nuts, and the 2:1 ratio of commercials to race footage. Also all the stupid rules to make sure the top guys have a change to get back into the race drives me nuts.

I watch a lot of late model and sprint car racing on dirt, everyone practically shows up with the same equipment, and those are great races.

  • Heck yes, that is badass

Having full paddock access is awesome for any motor sport. I have had it twice for F1 and it is insane.  NASCAR? FIrst ten laps and last ten laps are exciting. It's the three+ hours in between that are tedious. I will watch a bit today since its a holiday and I am being lazy.
  • Cliffy6745Cliffy6745 Posts: 33,805
So yeah, went to Daytona this weekend for full access and didn’t see a single race car running. Still a blast of a weekend, but yeah, pretty bummed it was pushed back and ended up switching my flight and coming home last night instead of this morning. Couldn’t push it one more day between the family and work

There's the big wreck with 8 laps to go. Thought Logano might have a good shot at winning, but that ain't happening now. Probably Chastain's race to lose now.
