  • He's an absolute beast on the kit! I'd love it if he did these with the actual music playing with the drums vs just a click. He influenced so many drummer, myself included, with his cymbal and splash work and his monster backbeat and groove. Dude lives in the pocket and those Bonham'ish triplets on the kick.. kills it

You know, it never ceases to amaze me that this beef hasn't been squashed. I know most of it comes from Dave's end, but we all know how hard headed Ed can be.

With the way the COVID situation with Matt has been on the last few tours, it wouldn't hurt to have Dave in your back pocket, especially to have a special show. If they can do something like Fort Worth Night 1 where there was only 1 song played released past the year 2000, I don't see why they can't have a show with Dave behind the kit only doing 91-94 stuff...

Would the tempo be faster? Absolutely.

Was the tempo faster with Josh behind the kit? Slightly. Did Josh use more cymbals that Matt Cameron, but less than Dave? Yup. Was it fucking amazing? YUP.

Would a show with Dave be fucking amazing? Thats a given.

Actually, the tempo would be slower and the groove would be back:)

For sure! Dave A was always locked in on that groove.

How cool to see Dave and PJ like when they recently had Dave K play a full set.. the fans would be the winners. If the band reads this, make it happen for the fans one time. Squash the beef, life is too short..

Revisiting the cymbals gives me a headache

Dave K has actually been playing in bands consistently. I get the impression Dave A has been playing with others in bits and pieces. It would also be weird because Dave A hasn’t moved on.

Dude is still my favorite PJ drummer! Likely impossible, but I would love if they all reunited once and played.

I had a sliver of hope that he was going to be the next Foo drummer.

No idea why he or Jack were left out. Fuck Jann Wenner and his band of idiots that make those decisions. Well, Jann isn’t one of them anymore.

they "offered" (according to Dave) for him to be an "invited guest" or something, but he had to pay for his own ticket to attend, which was something crazy like $10K or something. no offer to get on stage with them as far as I know

One of my cherished pieces of PJ history is a letter Dave wrote me after my teenage self wrote the TC asking for band stuff, stickers, whatever.  He wrote back and in the letter said that he was really the only one that answered fan mail ‘until the other guys fired me’. I got this in Aug of 94 and this was how I learned he was out.  Felt like your parents getting a divorce!
