Ok. If he legitimately was worried about WW3 I can understand that. If he vindictively did it to get his $400 mil from the pentagon that is some baloney. No single person should have that much power over anything. The pentagon should have probably started setting up a deal as soon as he started volunteering all of that equipment.mrussel1 said:
According to a book being released, he deliberately turned it off because he claimed he feared it would cause WW3. I think there may be a mixing of two sources, the Farrow article and this upcoming biography.static111 said:
I just finished reading the article. I did not see the part where Elon turned off starling vindictively. It states that as soldiers were moving operations stopped at a certain area. It is a leap to say he turned it off, unless I missed something. Of course I still think and always have thought he was a charlatan.mickeyrat said:static111 said:I'm not reading a tweet thread. This really makes the case against privatization IMO. There are so many things from defense to public works that should be brought back to the public sector, but you know radical socialists would ruin it all.

If he was legitimately worried it was because he listens to too many people that think WW3 is going to start if we don't let Vlad do what Vlad wants.0 -
Who knows his "legitimate" reasons. These are the ones he said, but to the others' points, that's not his call. He's not king of geopolitics. And BTW, WW# hasn't started yet and the Ukrainians are pushing through the lines.static111 said:

The Pentagon has got to divest from him. I expect they are planning it now. I would be shocked, mortified and crushed if they weren't.
Maybe no one loves defense contractors like Raytheon, NG, whatever. I get it. I get the criticism of the military industrial complex. But at the end of the day, the military brass and the WH are making strategic decisions about our politics and military engagements, not some rando South African douchebag.0 -

he should take it as a badge of honor that so many people have him muted and blocked. i laugh when people block me on social media, so i would think i would enjoy it way more if millions of people blocked me. i would definitely not be butthurt about it the way he is.Halifax2TheMax said:Think about it, the world’s richest person at $253B and he’s worried or focused on a social media platform and what people twat or that they’re not interested in what he twats. $253B and that’s Elongitaint’s concern? Haha! Very nearly, actually. My parents had decided to make my middle name be David but at the last minute realized that would make me D. Lux. It was bad enough that I constantly got teased as a kid and called "Soapy" (Lux hand soap and Lux dish detergent were very common years ago). But actually it wouldn't be so bad if I had been named "Brain D. Lux" (I have old some business cards that were miss-printed as "Brain Lux", lol).
The other funny thing about my name is that, among other meaning, Brian is a symbol for strength, my middle name is Ray, and my last name, Lux, is Latin for "light". Strong Ray of Light at your service.
