Congrats to both of you. Hope your wife has an easy pregnancy, labor and delivery.
People born in December are the best.

So far the pregnancy has gone really well.  I'm still worried about her dealing with labor, but our OB and neurosurgeon say as long as her blood pressure doesn't elevate significantly prior that it should go fine without any concern of another stroke.
Keep a planned C-section in the back of your minds. (I assume the Docs have thought of this as a possibility).
We did this with my son as my wife had a condition called placenta previa where the placenta is blocking the birth canal, so we had a C-Section scheduled about 2 weeks before her full term date, she never actually went into labor. Where labor could be a concern for your wife, this might be an option worth exploring.
We’ve discussed it a few times.  Our first OB mentioned the recovery from a C-Section being pretty rough.
I'm sure it varies depending on patient (and surgeon). Wasn't horrible for my wife. Couple days in the hospital then a couple weeks taking it easy after. But didn't really prevent her from any of the baby care.
This is really good to know.  We’re actually starting with a new OB next month (because we’re moving from Milwaukee to Madison in 2 weeks).  It’ll be a good time to revisit this option.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Congrats @Glorified KC! I hope everything goes well with the pregnancy and delivery. I am also a new dad and I have loved every minute of it. I just got done with my leave from work, and while I hated to go back there's no better feeling in the world than seeing my son light up when he first sees me after getting home.
