And this is exactly why you set up a time to drop with someone instead of saying “I’m going to drop at 3 pm exact” they are probably lurking on this page and buying when someone drops when they announce a time. You have 6 weeks to sell them.. you can wait a few hours to set up a drop time with someone!!! And make sure their profile says they have been a member for a while!!!!

I agree. It seems like several drops that were recently announced here were picked up by scalpers. They’re obviously monitoring the board. I’m going to try to arrange private drops via DM going forward.

That could work. But if they are monitoring the board what is to stop them from messaging you for a private drop. How do we know who they are. I guess we can look at how many posts they have made or something along those lines.

I think some of these the scalpers are going to have a shot at no matter what. Steph asked a few hours before she posted if anyone wanted to set up a drop. She could keep bumping it and wait a few days but I don't fault someone for wanting to get rid of extras promptly. We saw last year in California a glut of tickets can happen making it impossible to sell any of the less desirable ones. These tickets are at the far side of the arena from the stage and I didn't see anyone post here complaining they got beat. If the tickets are up for more than a few minutes, they're just sitting there for scalpers to grab whether they're monitoring this page or not. It's pretty low risk for them, at least until there's a glut, as they can just relist on F2F closer to the show if they don't sell for a profit. For the more desirable tickets, unannounced or timed drops are probably best as these resellers may be using technology that we can't compete with.

People on this board seem to be scoring some great seats that were unannounced, so that works too

That could work. But if they are monitoring the board what is to stop them from messaging you for a private drop. How do we know who they are. I guess we can look at how many posts they have made or something along those lines.

I would look at how long they’ve been a member and how active they are/how many posts they’ve made. Obviously it’s not a full proof plan, but I’m assuming (or at least hoping?) that the members who are active on this thread aren’t scalpers.
