We'll try and get there a little earlier and maybe have some time to look around a little bit. Game starting at noon was tough.
Parking is hilarious. It's always $25, but certain lots are cc only, and other lots are cash only. I swear they hate fans. The 12:30 start was so stupid, all because of Peacock or some dumb stuff. I had to give my tix up, way too early.
I believe you can park for free in the casino lot? I could be making that up though.0 -

We're waiting for the shoddily-run security (what happened to the fancy AI scanners?) and the national anthem starts and some douchebag working there is like "stop the line for the national anthem!!!". I read there was this new technology or some such, and then it seemed like everything was the same? I only assume it's some kind of AI/face recognition stuff to ban you, ala that lady who got booted from a Radio City Music Hall because she was a lawyer that was involved with suing MSG. Great world we're living in.
My rule is if you're not inside the venue and cannot see the pomp & circumstance then you don't need to stop for the anthem. It's absolutely obscene that it's done at every single game in every single sport all the time. Take it easy, jingoists.
I just turned 40 and only now found out I've been getting hosed with God Bless America for the majority of my ballpark watching - it's only done on Sundays, which I've only learned recently, and is the majority of the games I'm at.0 -
Ridiculous. I'm happy to stand and clap for the guy who just did 3 tours in Afghanistan or whatever, but you're telling me to stand at attention outside the ballpark. And the delays getting in there are almost all imposed by team-related inefficiencies. Get Real.
I wish we had picked some weeknights that are less crowded but we weren't too confident in my younger son's ability to handle that. Next year. We are split between Saturdays & Sundays.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Yankees play it, and televise it, every game. Only team that still does every game, by a good 10 years or so. It's a bit much0

The anthem stuff is so out of control. I always stand because I do respect the folks who serve but it shouldn't be played everywhere. GBA should never be played, imo.
Speaking of, are you guy going to the premier league games at Linc?
I bought 3 seats for the Chelsea game on Saturday. Should have just bought 2 but hoping my kid will be OK in club. Probably will regret it! Stoked to see a game, though. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

Also just went back and read some of the posts I missed.
Son does a day field trip to FI on Friday this week.
Best Pearl Jam tour was Vs. Cmon, I loved them in 98 and 2000 but the only thing those years have going on 93 is set length. 2nd album tour was so pissed off and spun up...it was awesome.
Put in for Indy - no word yet so guessing I missed. Luckily some friends put in each for MN and both won, so we may fly out for that one.
Lastly - Gig is far and away their worst album.

I do love those three albums but the bands energy standing there and watching....it was electric back in those days. They got better as a band but I hold that the earlier live shows were better. They still kick ass, though, so there is that. The Juggler said:

I don't really know what people want from this band. Do you expect them to be a museum band like GNR or Def Leppard and just tour around playing all their 90s songs? They have creative ideas and they want to make new music, and IMO a lot of it is damn good. But you go to there shows and honestly they are dominated by those 90s albums (my album stats are great for Ten through Yield, mediocre for most of the 21st century records, even though I was sadly way late to the party going to PJ shows). So they're giving you what you want anyway - you have to "suffer through" like a quarter of the set being post-Yield. But it's still a constant Whine Festival around here.F Me In The Brain said:

I think we're just bullshitting which is just fine. If someone wants to bitch about their tickets and/or not scoring tickets then they deserve some shit. Otherwise every and anything deserves criticism.
Also, Juggs - been listening to more 94-98ish Irons PJ, and I have to say: looking back at it, though, MC is the best drummer they've had no question. Jack definitely has a vibe and style that I think is more our lane, I think Matt brought wayyyy more to the band for the better.
Props to Jack - imagine leaving two of the biggest bands in the world for your own personal health reasons....and being totally fine with it. That's someone who's damn good at being present and comfortable in their own skin.0 -
            Yeeesh.
I had an awesome time at Camden last year. No gripes just cause I put the First Five on a pedestal.
