Whichever one of the goofballs running on fixing the fucking potholes would get consideration from me if I lived in city.
Instead I drive through city every day and was told yesterday that 3 of the 4 rims on my car are bent.
Fuck you, Philly roads!
I do my best to dodge them but you just can't see them all. I'm a zig zagging fool on my normal route. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

It's not just Philly. Lower Merion roads are horrible and they have maybe the highest tax base in the state.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Haha, you mean Jeff Brown's "Fix the damn potholes" signs? Yeah, he knows how to throw together some words to get people's attention, and then poof goes any real substance. He's hoping this carries him, though I'm glad it looks like his tombstone is in the works.
I sorta know this guy via Philly politics/ward networking and I think his overall review thread of last night is pretty good (still in the works):

Good info. It's good that RR is open to using solutions that have worked in other places.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

She's pragmatic, and that's a great thing imo. Like I said, I've only been disappointed with her "being a politician"/stage presence part of the gig, since I believe that's very much what people want right now (or at least one of the things they want right now - the opposite of Kenney hiding his tail and never coming out to communicate; voters want an actual, ya know, Leader).
But I also feel what we want and what we need aren't exactly the same thing. And I honestly think we need a technocrat in office right now. If her worst trait is not being opposed to public relations, yet at the same time not being great at standing at a microphone, that's cool with me. That's fixable to some extent.0 -
I feel as if my wife actively seeks out potholes and drives directly into them.

Rays are 12-0. I still can't figure out why we don't just poach their entire scouting & development team. That's like a month of paying Trea Turner.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

This morning's What Grinds My Gears - dumb small annoying shit that bothers only me. Harper I'm convinced started the proliferation of adding "... Right?" to the end of statements. Like he'll state an observation as fact and it's his way of validating it by putting it back on the person he's talking to. I hear it all the time now by players, especially in baseball. And it drives me bonkers. This is a good article but all I really get out of it is "...Right?"
