I did a few. My real one I had UCLA beating Marquette. I did one for fun (I let ESPN do a random one, which i made a few minor changes) but in that one they had Houston winning it against Arizona. My Cinderella team this year is Providence which i had making it to the sweet 16
well so much for the UCLA winning. I have no idea who's gonna win. Houston and Connecticut look pretty strong. I did have Miami in the final 4 in the midwest bracket (the only bracket I'm doing well in)

In the men's bracket, I'm pulling for Princeton, Gonzaga, and FAU in that order.

In the women's bracket, hoping my alma mater gets back-to-back championships. What Dawn Staley has accomplished here in Columbia is truly remarkable.

I hope San Diego St beats Alabama. I can't stand Nate Oats and think he's the sleaziest of all the coaches in the SEC, which is saying something since that group contains John Calipari and Bruce Pearl.

My bracket was pretty much nuked, but I was holding out hope with UCLA to win it all.

haha! he does seem like an asshat.

actually, I have no problem with Cal….he’s pretty upfront about what he’s trying to accomplish.

No number 1 seeds on the elite 8 for the first time since ‘79. Can’t say I’m too shocked especially since the way this season has gone so far. I think the winner of the UConn/Gonzaga game will win the whole thing.

Larry Bird's Indiana State was the #1 Seed(Midwest) in 1979 and made the Final 4 that year.

Indiana State lost to Michigan State in the Championship game. MSU had some player named "Magic" Johnson.

I did read that this year is the  First time ever that no #1 Seed made the Elite-8.

FAU to the Final Four. Great game

Some power 5 school is going to pay Dusty May a lot of money to be their coach, if he wants it

shaping up to be a great Final 4. texas may be the only villain left….and they’re really a football school….except they’re not really that, either.

You could say the same about Miami. I wish both schools could lose that game.

Other than that, I don't really care who wins the other games. I just want a chaotic, entertaining Final Four.

not a huge miami fan, either, but their geriatric coach seems OK. I think we sometimes unfairly judge Miami from their “convicts” FB days. I mean, stabby lewis went there, so I get it.

this tournament shows just what a waste of time it is for the “experts” to talk about matchups BEFORE the games. they’re as wrong as the rest of us. they get paid to be wrong, tho…

I don't like that the Final 4 is played at those big Stadiums either.

But, we  all know they do play them there.

Gotta love it...a 4 seed, 2 5 seeds, and a 9 seed in the Final Four. This is probably the most random grouping ever in the Final Four.

How come the NCAA men’s basketball games are in halves while the NCAA women’s and the NBA are in quarters? 🤔

The men's game and women's game have different rules and oversight committees. They don't necessarily have to agree on everything. The basic rules are the same, but there are differences in the more administrative rules if that makes sense.

To be honest, I prefer the 10 minute quarters over the 20 minute halves. Seems like the game goes faster since it cuts out a couple of tv timeouts. I also like doing away with the 1-and-1 after 7 team fouls.
  • cutzcutz Posts: 11,400
^^^^I prefer 4 Ten minute quarters too and also like how they reset the foul count after every quarter.

I think Men's College basketball is the only one that doesn't have 4 quarters?

just thought it was pretty weird. I wasn't even aware that the women played in quarters til last night. I had seen a few games here and there but never payed much attention I guess until last night. I thought it was a low scoring game after the clock hit zero at the 1st quarter. Me thinking it was first half though. Score was 25-21 at that point.
