I saw some where they said they had a hands-off approach, knew they were outnumbered so they knew they couldn't get physical with the crowd. That makes sense. Doesn't mean you need to be an escort and open the doors to the senate floor for him though, thats what I don't get. Being hands off I get, probably the right move. I don't think they were traitors too. The video doesn't make him innocent. And I'd like to think the escape routes would be a little more hidden, or aty least behind a locked door that 1 random guy wouldn't be able to break down.
I just think it was an odd tactic. I see it and think it is a very strange way to handle it, you don't need to go th extra mile for the customer service in a riot. I don't think there's anything to it other than they took the "don't rile them up" approach to an extreme by showing him the way to exactly where he wanted to go and escorting him there.0 -

I remember one of the employees repeatedly asking the rioters to not damage anything. That might have been part of it too. Isn't breaking into the capitol and gaining unauthorized access in and of itself illegal? I'm wondering what legal activities took place in the capitol that day. What legal activities took place within the capitol that day though, from a protestor pov? none that I am aware of? Once you start assaulting officers and breaking into the building it is anything but a normal totally legal sightseeing trip.
