Josh will be unavailable for PJ during all current and future Jane's Addiction shows
Thanks for the heads up, @Weston128! (from the rumor thread)
With this in mind, if Josh is still in the mix with all parties, here's his schedule:
    • 03/07 - Rialto Theatre - Tuscon, AZ (Jane's)
    • 03/09 - Hollywood Palladium - Hollywood, CA (Jane's)
    • 03/11 - Grand Sierra - Reno, NV (Jane's)
    • 03/12 - The Cosmopolitan - Las Vegas, NV (Jane's)
    • 03/18 - Lollapalooza Argentina (Jane's)
    • 03/19 - Lollapalooza Chile (Jane's)
    • 03/25 - Lollapalooza Brazil (Jane's)
I think this is notable, because I think it finally confirms that Josh won't be touring with Iggy & the Losers. And like @PJNB pointed out, depending on when these international dates are, I don't think PJ will be affected. They'll work it out.

Hopefully "some additional international shows to be announced soon" doesn't fall under spring / summer dates.

Long thread that I didnt read all of, so apologies if this has been addressed.
But why are we assuming PJ dates where Josh is busy wont happen? They played 30 years without him and a few shows with him. It didn't even cross my mind they he would be a shoe-in for the next tour.

Because if you had to choose which band to play in. Pearl Jam or Janes Addiction, which one would you choose?  If PJ was planning on touring, I have to image he'd make the same choice I would :)

It is assumed because it is the name logic that is used when some fans state that EV won't do any touring during the Fall months due to the CUBS playing in the MLB postseason.  It is nonsensical.

Do not go see Jane’s Addiction. Buddy spent $300 on two tickets in Tempe a few years back and they played 58 mins. That’s it. Gtfoh

I saw them open for the Smashing Pumpkins a few months ago in Vancouver.   They worked as an opener, because your supposed to play a shorter set, it means less filler, and you leaving the bigger set the headliner.  They were ok, which is pretty much as they've been every time I saw them.

At Lolla 2003 in Auburn, WA, Audioslave played before Janes' Addiction closed.   Not a great idea to have a high energy band play before a lower energy band... the whole crowd kind of deflated :)

Yeah, I didn't see adding Josh as a permanent thing. Maybe it turns out to be, but they are very capable of playing without him. I don't think his availability will weigh heavily on any decisions. I sort of assume that with Boom as well. They tell him what dates they are playing, and he clears his calendar. If he can't, they'll play without him. They're not going to check his grandson's little league schedule and work around that.

No one is saying they are moving things around for Josh. People are saying Josh is able to do other things because Pearl Jam is not touring.

I thought I saw some also implying PJ wont do certain dates because Josh is not available.

This. Josh can do what he wants because there are no PJ dates planned. ACL would not surprise me because of the payday and that would be great because it usually means a few dates around the festival. They just played in September. That usually means years before more dates. Hope I am wrong.

I know everyone speculates and loves to hope but the odds of them touring in 2023 don’t look good to me based on their history. 2022 they played their most shows in a year since 2009 but that was 13 years prior (and younger). Since then

    2014: 32 shows
    2015: 11
    2016: 25 shows
    2017: 1
    2018: 26 shows
    2019: 0
    2022: 33 shows
    2023: ?

might play some randoms and hope they tour but they might be off for another year (at least)

That is correct except you are missing the 2021 shows. Hopefully they are working on a record because a record means more shows. There is still hope for 2023 as the festival paydays are huge and ACL in October would be a year after the last shows. I am not expecting 2023 shows, but it would be nice if there were!

    2019 had no shows.

I think they hit some missed markets this year and either take next year off touring North America or hit it big with a new album.

They went on a span of over 3 years with no shows recently. Looking at what has been a normal touring pattern the last handful of years is probably not going to be helpful guessing if they are going to play this year. On top of that they also released an album and have yet to hit a lot of major markets since then. 2 of those cities have been mentioned in the rumour thread. Seattle has to be in that mix as well if they are playing this year.
