Individual habits...These guys are artist - I suspect they live a completely different lifestyle with a unique set of expectations on them - compared to what I consider normal 9-5 people. If they smoke, drink, do drugs, or whatever - to me it comes with the territory in all likelihood and part of what has made them who they are - amazing and yet flawed, like the rest of us. Maybe that's part of the allure to me along with the great music. We all have issues, if an artist wants to engage in what we consider "risky behavior" - than that is their choice and between the individual, their family and the ones who depend on them - bandmates etc. It would be nice, but I don't think they are obligated to make healthy choices on our behalf. I've never heard anyone from the band say they wish to be doing this in their 80s - I might be wrong? Either way, my point is I don't think it is our place to hammer them down for their lifestyle choices at this point. I was not complaining about Eddie swinging from the rafters in the early days, when he could have broke his neck or worse...it added to the experience and rush. Regardless - one day we will all wake up and this amazing run with the band will all be over. Let's just try to enjoy what is left of the ride. Give these guys some room. - BTW, I had tickets to Vegas - so I get the overall disappointment as well. Speedy Recovery EV.0

Sounds good but they'll continue on just like the Stones, it's not a real job and it's also a business which keeps others behind the scenes employedBC62528 said:Individual habits...These guys are artist - I suspect they live a completely different lifestyle with a unique set of expectations on them - compared to what I consider normal 9-5 people. I suspect the fear of that day drives some of the frustration shown in this thread.. We all want Pearl Jam for as long as possible!BC62528 said:Individual habits...These guys are artist - I suspect they live a completely different lifestyle with a unique set of expectations on them - compared to what I consider normal 9-5 people. He was definitely singing at the 121212 concert when he stopped mid-lyric to kiss Ed on the forehead.Celticskemba8 said:___________________________________________

I think it's too early to get too anxious about the St. Louis gig just yet. It was just last year Eddie sang three nights in a row in front of 15,000 folks each night at Ohana (two w/ the earthlings and once with PJ) , four if you include the practice session they performed that Thursday night. Being there that whole weekend, you could tell he was getting the jitters out of the way but his voice got better as the weekend went on IMO. This was also after PJ had only played one other show prior since 2018. It's too early to saw just yet. Two shows got canceled this tour because of COVID, and now we have one voice related issue. And now Prague.... damn. Freaking Climate Change!!!!jwhjr17 said:
Just made this exact comment to a buddy about the St. Louis showlowbudgetlush said:I have to say it. The Gigaton album & tour sure seems cursed. They should have just scraped it from the get-go, recorded a new album and toured that in 2022. Sorry for all the fans that were supposed to go to the show tonight. As someone posted earlier Ed's voice is probably shot hence the shorter sets this tour. If that is indeed true how stupid is it that they added that Bourbon and beyond festival date that has them play 3 shows in a row. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Id be worried if I was St. Louis.Post edited by bmurray06 on0 -

agreed....it's a fear of having to let go of something we are very attached to. Like a part of us is dying.PeArLgOoNeR said:

So sorry about the shows guys. Many of us have been in those shoes. BUT Go drift into the cities…go help the local communities economy and represent the cool Americans with class. Have a good time. Make memories that are unforgettable. Travel is the key to life and you’re doing it! You’ll get to see them again, this is tough, make the best of it. Don’t take it out on locals. Haha. Tits up kids. Peace ✌🏼0

Many people have traveled from the US to Europe to have multiple shows canceled??? That being said we have taken very good care of our bartenders tonight.12paws said:So sorry about the shows guys. Roger does sing.
People aren't shaming EV for smoking they are just pointing out the obvious fact that smoking for years is going to take a toll.

Insult to injury, I guess due to exchange rates being better now I am losing money on my tickets. I received my refund through PayPal but it is about $78 dollars less than what I paid a few years ago. I knew I wouldn't get my service fees back, but this big difference in price stinks.Post edited by browngw on0

Going through the same thing. Happened as well in May for us. It’s how they do business but sucks as the one on the other end losing money for shows you did not attend.browngw said:Insult to injury, I guess due to exchange rates being better now I am losing money on my tickets.
