@JPPJ84 honestly? Ed and stone were the most visibly frustrated. With how everything managed to go off without a hitch in night one, Josh and Richard really struggled tonight. Josh was fighting it and Richard kinda went space cadet on a number of tunes aside from just missing downbeats just zoning out and not ending songs anywhere close to when  he should have. Kinda got away with it on WMA turning it into a drum jam with Josh but the rest of the guys had changed instruments and were waiting around. was above the stage on stones some almost behind and Ed stone and Mike were visibly not happy when they left for encore. Encore you could see them trying to kinda salvage it. It’s a tough situation.
Just got back to the hotel. Something was definitely off during Brain of J and Low Light. TIming of the drums or something else. Ed was having issues with his monitors possibly. At the end of Low Light he kicked a large PA speaker right in between Josh and Stone and then threw his wine bottle right at the same spot. We got Angry Eddie for the rest of the evening. Mike joined in on RVM and smashed his guitar against the mic stand over and over. During Porch Jam Ed just walked in circles visibly angry like a lion in a cage. I thought for a second we were going to see him launch himself into the crowd. There was definitely a completely different vibe once he threw that bottle. He did say that Matt is still in Arizona trying to get better. I think the earliest he'd be back would be Sacramento.

I didn't catch any of the frustration that people are describing. Didn't notice any of it.

Eddie even commented on his behavior himself, and apologized. I'm not so sure it was related to frustration with drummers, however.

I would suspect that it's due in large part to having multiple unprepared drummers filling in. It is probably easier for them to pick up many of the songs they have been hearing for 25-30 years. I could be wrong, but that's my take.

I'm betting covid earned MFC a pay raise.

Ed apologized for his angry outburst and said it was his fault. I am paraphrasing but I got the impression he felt like he fucked up. He then mentioned that there are a lot of people with real problems to worry about and that he needs to remind himself of that sometimes. There was plenty of joy coming out of the man the rest of the night but I think he may have been frustrated with a number of things, some of which may not have anything to do with a rock concert.

It did.  I'd only every gotten it as a tag before.

In regards to last nights show, it was ok.  I liked the setlist for night 2 better but night 1 was the better show.   Night 1 was an amazingly fun show for the band and the audience with the challenge of having to replace Matt at the last minute.  They seemed to be struggling a lot more on night 2, and it felt like getting down to business.  I was actually surprise they changed the setlist as much as they did.    Most bands don't play different sets every night.. that had to be much harder in this situation.  I give them props for mixing it up and not doing the same set on the 2nd night in spite of what was going on.

I think the thing I missed the most was more gigaton.  hopefully next time.

Time to call in Jack Irons Or Dave K or Matt Chamberlain or that guy from the Voice who is begging to play drums for PJ, Adam Levine. Call in a favor boys. Or don’t and don’t be frustrated. Plenty of talented drummers out there that can contribute.

I hate to be that guy but no. He did great under those circumstances but made a few flubs here and there. I hate even posting this but the drummer in me couldn’t resist. The kid is incredible and for sure has a bright future ahead. It’s great seeing kids that age rocking out.

I was there, about 20 people back from Eddie and saw him throw his wine bottle...kinda of threw it down towards the side of the stage. It totally felt out of character, you could tell something was up...but he snapped out of it fast.
