I only started streaming a few min ago. Trying to piece together the drummer situation. Was there a fan on stage, and if so, for what songs?

Mike smashing his guitar on the mic stand

Curious if anyone there can or will chime in on the throwing of the wine bottle and guitar smashing if there seems to be genuine tension/anger building or peaking ? Or if it’s just stage antics
    Yeah, I’m curious about this.
We all saw the video of Ed just over his guitar tech during the Sirens experiment, dropping the guitar after the 4th or 5th botched show and then the guy was fired after 15 years. Drums might sound good to the normal person but if you’re a pro and expecting not to have to “look back” to make sure you’re on key with the drummer than there’s a problem. I hope it’s just antics. Mike smashed his guitar once on Letterman and that was after the greatest drumming on Grievance ever. Don’t know why MC doesn’t play like this every time they play this song: https://youtu.be/jUi_kqxUuVA

  • They blow past an encore or is the first really long set?

I’m here. EV kicked over his speaker and threw his wine bottle after Lowlight. The rest of the main set was super intense. Just now, he was pissed during Smile again, either at the slow speed or Josh not singing. Haven’t seen Mike that wild (RVM) in a long time and he swung his guitar at his mic stand at the end. Not sure what’s up. They’re doing the best they can given the circumstances. But if they want to destroy the stage, play BLOOD!!!

Mt. Baker is pretty damn iconic for drumming on Binaural songs.

Yeah, it's one thing to be at the show and think the sound is on, but I wonder how the drummer carousel is going to translate on the boots. May be a lot more noticeable on the differences. I don't think boots ever compare to the show when you were there. Hard to capture that energy of the whole experience.

Ed was even slightly pissed at Matt for playing Elderly Woman too slow to start when facing the back in LA. It’s that time of the month…..

Maybe whatever happening is being enhanced by the unique stress of playing a show with your buddy sick and unable to play drums, and being backed by grooves you are not super prepped and sure on since it was spur of the moment?

And being super cautious about everything., meanwhile others acted like it was a hoax and no big deal and basically avoided being impacted or didn't do the right thing if they were ill. Frustrating to follow protocols and still get fucked over.

Definitely even on this stream you can tell the vibe is a bit different.  Better Man started right away after Smile with no room to take a breather, less talking and Ed call and responses, kind of just walking in circles during Porch just now, etc.
