Ever peel & steam your Asparagus?
No. I haven’t tried it that way. I just sautéed it in a little olive oil in the same pan that I sautéed the peppers and onions. Does peeling it make it less stringy?
    A bit.
    Snap as  normal.  Light peel.
Steam tray over boiling water for about 2 minutes, until a knife point goes easily in.
Hit with some lemon and salt
    Could eat 15 of them!

I'll eat Asparagus almost any way, but that is my favorite

Easy and delicious way to eat leftover french fries.

Melt some butter in your favorite cast iron skillet. While doing so, cut up your leftover fries into about one-inch sticks. Once done, toss those leftover fries into the butter and heat them up. After your fries are good and hot, dump them in a bowl and shred some cheese over them to melt. (I also add a little hot sauce.)

Melt another pat of butter in your skillet and fry up two eggs over easy. When finished, add those eggs to your bowl and shred a little more cheese over them to melt. (I also add a little more hot sauce.)

Mix everything up with a fork, being sure to break the yolk so that it coats the fries and to let the cheese get good and melty, and you’ve got yourself a delicious and very filling breakfast bowl.

Bacon, sausage, etc. welcome as well.

    Don’t throw away leftover fries.

Edit: I’m southern and cook with butter (or bacon grease when we have it), but I’m sure whatever cooking oil you use will work as well.

Sounds delicious. But I don’t think I have ever experienced these leftover French fries that you speak of  ;)

Killed some wild salmon on cast iron! Got a fire blazing. Pan ripping hot. A little oil and Cajun spice rub. Cut up a potato. Butter. Threw on pan. Dumped a little beer. Covered with foil. Added more beer as needed. when they were nicely burned/done. Pushed to the side. Seared salmon for a couple minutes. Finished through the skin. Add a splash of beer here and there.

Love cooking over an open fire.
    Primal. So smokey and great.

I wasn't planning on eating red meat after a load of tacos last night, but I'm off and was out running some errands. I nipped into my butcher for a look. I couldn't resist.

Does anyone here ever cook meat in a slow cooker?

I have tried making brisket and Tri Tip, but they come out kind of stringy.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Yes. Ditch your slow cooker.

I've not done it.  My wife makes her stew in it.
I don't mich care for them based on some trials years back.  I'm sure someone here will be a fan and able to share.

I agree. It’s good for certain things. But for slow roasted meats nothing beats a good cast iron Dutch oven.

A few jalapeno slices in a smoothie really kicks things up a notch.
