***Ben Harper Appreciation Thread***

Harper playing a few shows/festivals in the States before he heads off to Europe. So wish I was going, especially that Red Rocks show in May. Have fun to those that are. Hopefully, maybe, we get a show a little closer to the Midwest upon their return.

Ben just got added to a weekend festival (JJ Grey's Solwater Revival) that starts next Friday. Ben and JJ on the same stage? It would be incredible if they did a song together.

Nice. I’m not familiar with who JJ Grey is, but I’ll check him out. I do like when Ben shares the stage with another JJ(Jack Johnson) though. Have fun.

Yeah, I listened to a few songs yesterday, some live version of Lochloosa that I liked. I’ll delve more. Thanks

Lochloosa is definitely a fan favorite. Check out Brighter Days too. If you can find live versions, that's the way to go.

Such an amazing record.

It really is, but it's too pricey on Discogs, at least the last time I looked it was. I'm hoping he re-issues it at some point. I'd love his live album with the R7 on vinyl too, but I think it's only on CD.

That’s the one I’ve been watching. Great album. 

Last Friday night I was lucky enough to see Ben solo. He opened for JJ Grey & Mofro in St Augustine, FL. He was a last minute addition after another band pulled out (win for me). Ben was incredible. I hadn’t seen him since 2016, and that was with the Innocent Criminals. He only played for about an hour but he got through a good amount of songs, told some stories, and even played a NEW song “off his upcoming album”! Yea that’s right…a new Ben Harper album! 

And then I spotted Ben side stage watching Mofro at one point later on in the night. Both performances were incredible. The only thing that could had made it better was if PJ was playing too.

Hell yes!!! Thank you so so much for the update! I’ve been trying to find the setlist or a video and haven’t been able find anything. Sounds like an awesome show! Thanks again, I’m pumped about this.
