Been listening to a lot of Ben lately and figured with his upcoming solo tour, he needs his own thread.

How cool is this:

    Much Appreciation to BH!
From Two Feet Thick's recap of Arras 2010:
Before the encore, Vedder tells that “our band just got bigger” and Ben Harper joins the band for “Red Mosquito”. Vedder not only talks about “bigger”, but adds that the band has become “stronger and more handsome”.

I've been a big fan of Ben's since around 2002 and he just gets better as a writer and a musician. I love his album with the Blind Boys Of Alabama and Live From Mars is essential listening. I was made up when he supported PJ in Europe last time as it meant I got to see him 4 times too!! Good to see him and Ed doing Under Pressure together and he made Red Mosquito sound massive at Hyde Park.

  • Ben Harper is brilliant, i first heard of him through PJ. Check out his slide skills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgBqDk2twvU, I first saw him in Hyde park (england) If anyone like's his music i would recommend one of his early albums, 'welcome to the cruel world'. Brilliant music, very talented man.
“Kilgore Trout once wrote a short story which was a dialogue between two pieces of yeast. They were discussing the possible purposes of life as they ate sugar and suffocated in their own excrement. Because of their limited intelligence, they never came close to guessing that they were making champagne.” C'est la vie

My wife & I used Happy Everafter In Your Eyes as our wedding song. Now we sing it as a lullabye to our son at bedtime. Definitely big fans of Mr Harper. No acoustic date here for us yet but he's being kind enough to spend independance day with us :-)

Not the best video, but you get to see a bunch of arms raised in V's. Jeremy starts around 5:35. I've been told he does this tag occasionally so there may be better videos out there from other shows.

That's where it started for me and man did i ever wear that cd out. I believe i saw this concert on some obscure channel and i was hooked from what i saw. I met BH back stage at the langerado Festival 2007, such a kool guy him and his band IC's.

I like the way he played out in the crowd, just like my friend Michael franti would do at some of his concerts.

the percussion guy is soooo funny!!

Heard this song on tour when he supported with PJ, i heard it the odd times (saw him about 8 times with PJ on that tour) and it just instantly hit me..I tried to find the best version, i've been through so many as he changes song all the time, this is the best. Couldn't wait for the studio version but it's not as good at this:
