I always thought the lean on this album cover looked so unnatural...too far away from the tree.....or something....like he's getting geared up to push a dead car....
But my God, what an album.  The dueling guitars between him and Danny Witten during Cowgirl is so sublime and cutting edge.  Love it.
I have a soft spot for the title song of this album. Several years ago I went to Ireland and Spain with my ex. He was from Ireland so we started there. We had rented a car, and one of his friend's gave us two CDs to listen to in the car- The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, and Neil Young Live at the Filmore East. When we got to Spain we rented another car, and had a long drive ahead of us. We couldn't find any radio stations we liked, so we played those two CDs over and over again. We especially liked the song Everybody Knows this is Nowhere and would sing it at the top of our lungs when it came on. I don't know how many times we listened to it during that drive. I always think of that when I hear the song now.

Music is best when it triggers a memory,  experience,  a lost loved one...

Amazing 2012 CB/BG cut of this classic.  These are the records that show the real difference vinyl makes.

Another Christmas LP that I've loved for a long time...first time spinning it! Black Pumas were easily one of the highlights of Ohana for my wife and I. So much energy and just an amazing set!

This is a great record. I love these old folk songs.  Great choice!

  • Does anyone have the new AP version of August and Everything After?

I’ve got the 2017 2LP Back to Black 45RPM version which is pretty amazing. Wondering if the AP is somehow better.

I have the original AP but the reissue is the same.  And yes,  the 45 is amazing.  A friend of mine had the 2017 and he bought the AP and said it's much quieter,  deeper,  better.

Thanks for that info. Just waiting for my first ever order from Acoustic Sounds directly. It’s coming FedEx so I want to see what kind of BS charges (customs, fees, etc.) I’ll  to pay before I order again.

I will probably pick up that CC record along with Rodger Waters - Amused to Death and a pair of SRV albums (CSTW and Texas Flood) which are certainly better than the copies I have, although the 2010 CSTW I have is a QRP pressing remastered by KG and is pretty damn awesome.

The 2017 European Texas Flood copy isn’t as stellar and could certainly use an upgrade.

I'm an Acoustic Sounds fan boy.  I think they are great, their product is great adn so is their customer service.  You call them and someone answers the phone and talks to you every time.  I've had imperfections on their records in the past, and they replace them promptly.  I hope your experience is just as good.

FWIW, I am looking to sell my Amused to Death, 200g AP copy.  https://www.discogs.com/release/7271615-Roger-Waters-Amused-To-Death   Played once, just don't love the record.  If you have some records to trade, happy to do that.  Although Canada to US may be a pain.

Shipping costs between the US-Canada take a lot of the fun out of trading although I’ve got this thread up in LD with some trades listed.
Drop me a DM if you think there is a deal to be had there.

Maybe this is common knowledge to others. I always feel when bands do this somehow they should tell the fans. Or maybe it's just a fun mystery to discover. Whatever.
