Everyone should hope the truth comes out.  But it's funny on Facebook, etc. seeing the guarded optimism that it's "the other side."  If it's Clinton, a guy for whom I voted twice, then fuck him. He had his good and bad points as president (mostly good, IMHO) but being a good president, athlete, writer, beer-brewer, football coach, preacher, etc. does not make a you a good person. I hope any liberal, conservative, moderate, apolitical-type, etc. that committed/facilitated any sexual crimes gets what's coming to them.

That all said, it's just amazing how huge sexual assault rings and long-lasting sexual-assaulters are able to just go on and on. The ability for large groups of people to turn their collective heads is frightening.

    I don't wish them well...
people need to stop with this "well well well, look at the democrat/republican". nearly every single instance is anecdotal and has zero to do with the person's political leanings.
I had this thought recently...  that the Clinton's in an odd way are somewhat responsible for Trump.  Or more accurately... in the divisive culture war fiercely being fought on the internet between the left and the right, dems and the reps, blues and reds..  etc. the sheer ignorance of both sides' failures are what keep this shit going.

I regrettably watched Trump's first impeachment closely and honestly got stuck in the left's echo chamber. But then I saw something kind of interesting about Clinton's impeachment in the process.  Some of those senators and congressmen/women that were around during both impeachments sang remarkably similar tunes... none of which were in the interest of the public or for the truth... but in the interests of partisanship.  Between the two chiefs.. Clinton and Trump... it should be obvious to all that BOTH should have been impeached. It takes leadership and courage to say that you're own team is failing.  I'm not old enough to remember the fine details about the Clinton impeachment and the dems at that time.... but presently.... in the culture war today we need more Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney types. Call out your own leader. Call out your own party... in the interests of truth and the people.

Whatever becomes of this Epstein/Maxwell thing... truth and consequence for all I say!
Trump’s success due to Clinton was largely due to the bonkers irrational demonization from republicans that started when Bill was president. They kept it going through Bush and Obama, and despite Hillary getting decent approval ratings as SOS and Senator, once she was running for prez, all they had to do was make baseless claims about her being corrupt. Republican voters were so far gone at that point that somehow Trump had the moral and ethical high ground.
don't forget that hillary actually won the popular vote by over 3 million votes. trump won in just a few key states to win the electoral college.
I gotta tell ya, I honestly don't know why people keep bringing this up. The popular vote has never mattered. I actually agree with Trump that if it did, he still would have won. It wildly changes your campaign strategy, or it should if you have a good campaign team. And that's why she lost.
She lost because people don't like her.  The democratic war machine propped her on a pedestal and crowned her queen but they didn't read the room.
Main reason she lost is Jim Comey.
    Those damn emails again.
Yeah. It's pretty ironic how upset everyone was over that yet Trump and his family and his whole administration seemingly all used their own unsecure phones and texting apps and shit for four years! The 1/6 committee has Meadows' emails from that day and he was using his god damned gmail account.

i think the democratic position on any single issue is enough to trigger the cons. triggering them does not have to be the platform. any democratic leader suggesting anything automatically triggers them. see the senate. automatic unanimous gop "no" on most bills brought.

Trump was the only one I know of that was terrible. But people bought his "successful businessman" schtick.

the ones that I can think of, Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwartz, Al Franken....all were decent in their roles. There are far more people who were famous that didn't get elected, so no, it's not all about "let's elect this person just because they're famous".

I'd rather have them (except trump) than this guy:

the ones that I can think of, Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwartz, Al Franken....all were decent in their roles. There are far more people who were famous that didn't get elected, so no, it's not all about "let's elect this person just because they're famous".
Ronald Reagan is the most prominent example. NFL Hall of Famer Steve Largent is another. He served in the House of Representatives for eight years.
yeah, what's funny is that I was young enough at the time that I found out after he left office that he was an actor first. that blew me away at the time.
I might still not know if not for the Back To The Future line.
HA!  I found out by watching one of those oldie "win one for the gipper" movies.  I was like huh?  The president was an actor?  Then I got all confused and thought he was playing the president as a role...

The 1/6 committee has Meadows' emails from that day and he was using his god damned gmail account.
this is another one of those red herrings. do you really think there were THAT many people that were either undecided or changed their vote based on that, that close to the election?
By THAT many people you mean .004% of the electorate? Because that's basically what that election was determined by in the few states that swung to Trump at the last minute. So yes would be my answer to that question. Polling from that time showed a shift in the days after he re-opened that bogus investigation. I don't think it is a red herring at all.

I think there are a lot of factors, which your article states clearly in one of the first paragraphs:

The letter isn’t the only reason that Clinton lost. It does not excuse every decision the Clinton campaign made. Other factors may have played a larger role in her defeat, and it’s up to Democrats to examine those as they choose their strategy for 2018 and 2020.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

I never said there were not other factors. There were clearly a lot. But there is no denying the fact that there was a shift in polling right after he did his thing at the end of October, which leads me to believe it changed people's minds.

As much as I’d like to know, I think the names should stay sealed unless there’s enough to bring charges against them. Otherwise it just seems like uncollaborated gossip/slander they are releasing.
