BALTIMORE - an update is in order

With the news of the construction they should really say something before the new year on this one.  Will they? Probably not, but it would be super awesome if they did.

I hope something can be worked out. You guys who scored those tickets (especially on the F2F) worked much too hard getting them to have them cancel it.

Is there another venue in the baltimore area of similar size? Even outdoors I guess theoretically?

There is an amphitheater and I think someone on another thread mentioned Xfinity Center (University of Maryland). Xfinity isnt a viable option, in my opinion. It appears they have only hosted two concerts, ever (according to setlist.fm).

For me, the main attraction of the Baltimore show was the venue itself.  I was there for the 2013 show and it was great to see them in a smaller arena.  I really hope they can get the show scheduled there, rather than some other venue in the area.

Depending on when these shows happen, Merriweather Post Pavilion is probably an acceptable outdoor option. Downtown Baltimore has Pier 6 Pavilion, which is also an outdoor venue and wouldn't seat nearly as many. Or they could do a small club situation and play Ram's Head as a 10C only show.

I was wondering why seemingly everyone else got emails from Ticketmaster and I didn't.  The reno explains it.  Hopefully they can work something out.  I'd totally be game for a DC or Philly relocation.

Xfinity is a great venue. I don’t know if they are wired for concerts but it’s a new facility (mid-2000s) and would be intimate since it’s a basketball arena. Plus plenty of parking.

I’m assuming concerts on campus would need to allocate a large chunk of tickets to students which is probably the bigger barrier. I know Pearl Jam played the Xfinity center’s predecessor in their early days but I don’t recall events on campus that were not specifically booked with the student population (and ticket allocation) in mind.

What are the Philly venues these days? Haven’t been since the 2000s and know the Spectrum is no more. Wachovia still kicking? Just no Camden please.

Oh, I may have typed it in wrong then. It showed a concert in late 80s, and one in 2005. Maybe that was the old venue?

Sounds like a cool spot if they could make it happen then.

The old venue was Richie Colosseum, which PJ played in 92 (I was not there). Xfinity was completed in 2002 (so early 2000s - my mistake). Formerly known as Comcast Center.

Edit: I found the site where you saw the two concerts listed. The one from the 80s was tagged wrong (the user meant to tag a venue in MA). The Jessie J concert in 2015 was for Art Attack which is for the students.

I am not sure if the school books non-student related events at all.

Wells Fargo Arena, which holds about 19.5k according to google, significantly bigger than the Baltimore arena I would assume.

With that being said, I had no complaints w/ that venue for the B2B 2016 shows.

They were sent out for Baltimore as well. But I wouldn’t worry as long as the tickets are still in your account.

Not really interested in another Philly show... I've already hit my quota there (Halloween '09 + TENadelphia), so we opted for a different show this year.  What about..

HAMPTON, VIRGINIA??   Great little venue, not too far, overdue for a visit (2016), and they can redeem that awful poster.

Gotcha! That makes sense. I was confused, as setlist site is usually pretty reliable.

Hampton is great but its 5 hours from Baltimore. No way they move it further than DC, more likely they go to MPP if it has to move, though that would pose an interesting ticketing issue for those of us holding tix

Anyone tried calling the arena and just asking if they will be open during the renovation?

I mean, it's 3.5hrs from the RoFo Arena, not 5.. but considering Baltimore was likely the closest show to anyone in the southeast US along the coast, it's not that much of a stretch to consider Hampton!  :)
