Yes police answering mental patients issues should be done away with or at least be the back up to social workers who can deal with these issues, it just gets problematic if there’s weapons involved so police should still be there when that happens..

“I’ve got it!” Cameron said. “He’s a cop!” The form the T-1000 would take for most of the movie was a Los Angeles police officer. This solved the storytelling dilemma Winston had raised and also gave Cameron an opportunity to underline a central theme in both of the Terminator movies – how people, especially those in violent jobs, like soldiers and cops, can become barbarized. “The  films are not really about the human race getting killed of by future machines. They’re about us losing touch with our own humanity and becoming machines, which allows us to kill and brutalize each other,” he says. “Cops think all non-cops as less than they are, stupid, weak, and evil. They dehumanize the people they are sworn to protect and desensitize themselves in order to do that job.”

"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"

reports are surfacing that the police that were ON SCENE and ENGAGED the Uvalde shooter BEFORE he entered the school, failed to enter the school, shaking in their boots, waiting for backup.

THEY SHOULD ALL LOSE THEIR JOBS AND PENSIONS. FUCK THOSE COWARDS.

apparently the thin blue line is cowering in a group outside the building while the shooter gets busy shooting on the inside.

one woman was trying to get the cops to go inside. they fucking CUFFED HER. when they released her, she jumped the fence, ran into the school, and saved her two kids on her own.

I’ve been watching “we own this city” on HBO

if it’s 1/10000 of a percent accurate (which it is) policing is messed up but we all know it anyway.

im not offering any solutions, but it’s like that creepy uncle everyone has. He’s family, but everyone knows don’t be alone with him.  That’s how I see the police as an institution.

what exactly are we paying those cops to do then?

seriously though. it must be hard to put down a delicious donut and run into an active shooter situation. i wouldn't want to do it.

I wouldn't want to either. that's why I'm not a cop. it's literally their fucking job. stop accepting accolades as heroes if you're going to be a do nothing shithead.

It’s probably the highest paying job for people without a degree.

OT is absurd.  With 100k in OT which may or may not be legitimate they are among the highest paid city employees if they play their cards right.  More than doctors working for the city. That’s what they aspire to, not running into danger.

I'm holding off on any police criticism until the full story is out. They are an easy target right now.

The right has blamed the school. They have also made a causation over a rumour  the shooter was both an illegal immigrant and transgender.

Any time you are jumping through hoops to distract it’s a good bet the police response was subpar. In a city where 40 percent of the city budget is the police department

Arming teachers is about the most absurd solution imaginable

however it’s also a way to blame shift and add more guns as being a solution ….”if the teacher had a gun then…”

    Literally the dumbest argument.
