Nothing funny about this to be honest. When does it "end" for you?

Progress: Fully vaxxed Americans welcome to Canada for non-essential travel starting in mid-August. Expected to expand that to all countries in September.

That is great news. Hopefully testing coming to and from is not needed or they have the quick tests that are free.

It is a serious question though. I am really curious the mindset of some of these people and what they are expecting to happen in the next year or two and how their comfort levels are driving their thoughts on how everyone else needs to act.

My above post about me having my double vax was not so much a I am good screw everyone else lets go kind of statement. It was more of a  what else am I supposed to do comment. What is the endgame here? We were supposed to lockdown to help the people that are most vulnerable to the disease so our healthcare systems did not collapse. Did that. We were supposed to get vaxxed to help contribute to herd immunity. Did that too. Now what? Vaccinations have stalled to a crawl in the states with some states having embarrassingly low numbers. Cases will rise and fall for years and years. Are we really going to be watching these numbers go up and down like a yoyo through seasons and not go back to normal even though the deaths and hospitalizations are nowheres near what they were in the past?

All I am asking is what am I being patient for? When does this end? With out mandatory vaccinations this is as close to as good as we are going to get.

I’m good without shows! You guys are the ones acting like it’s the end of your lives if you don’t attend anymore concerts, like I’ve said I’m fine living and doing the things I love to do without having to be in a space with thousands of fans for a show ..

Come one. Quit with the hyperbole. We are on a Pearl Jam forum discussing when new Pearl Jam shows will be announced. This is the focus of the forum and not the end of our lives if it does not happen. If you see me out in public do you think this is all we would talk about?

Pearl Jam hasn’t been a touring machine for almost 20 years.  So it’s not much of a surprise that they’ve pulled back even more during the pandemic.  I’m glad we’re getting two shows this year with hopefully more to come next spring.

No one knows when Pearl Jam will announce more dates, & I would bet Pearl Jam themselves don't know, they're clearly taking a wait & see approach... Foo Fighters just cancelled a gig because someone in the crew tested positive... the Red Sox / Yankees series this weekend is cancelled due to some Yankees testing positive. LA is trying to go back to indoor masking (good luck w/ that).

No one wants to hear it, but this pandemic isn't over yet.

I get that people want definitive answers, but they just aren't there yet and clearly the band is hesitant to proceed.

There's still a lot of uncertainties around the short term future and how all of this is going to play out. It is what it is.

& not for nothing, but with all the pissing and moaning about flight vouchers expiring in December... do people really want to start booking flights & hotels for this fall / winter knowing that any given show could be cancelled?

All the progress made over the last few months seems to have people think that things are back to normal, but we are seeing there not. I'm just hopeful Ohana still happens and coming to grips with the fact that Spring 2022 is the absolute earliest for a full tour of any sort.

So one county in the us is requiring you to wear a mask indoors, however everything is still open.  So besides wearing a mask in one county in the us what isn’t normal?

not sure where everyone else lives but here in my area, San Diego, no way people will listen to any mask mandate. That ship has sailed. Life is back to normal and no effin way its going to happen on a large scale at least here. Again, this is the only place I ever even here covid. Not to belittle other countries, but I am talking about here. Its done and over. If you don't vax, power to you. I personally am and not looking back.

Foo Fighters just cancelled a show... Red Sox / Yankees series cancelled this weekend... Roger Daltrey cancelled his US tour only a few weeks after announcing it.

    Is that normal?

Maybe these interruptions will get fewer and further between, or maybe as more things reopen / people return to pre-pandemic life we see more of these interruptions... only time will tell.

Same here in Georgia (no suprise).

I am fully vaxed and 100% will not look back, regardless. I personally won't change what I am doing to protect someone who has had ample opportunities to protect themselves.
