Oh yeah, I dig it! Larry is one those artists that is more than just the art for me. I think Larry was a special human being in his life outside of music. A positive force. I count myself extremely lucky to have seen him perform live twice. Now they just need to reissue "Fairyland" on vinyl so I can visit cloud 9.brianlux said:qontheboard said:RSD haul:
Larry Coryell (Score!!!!!)
The Doors
Fela Kuti
Tears For Fears
Tom Tom Club
Toots And The Maytals
The Who
Larry's At the Village Gate is one of my top three (of the 18 I have) favorite Coryell's . Such an amazing record and the fact that RSD re-issued it pretty damn awesome! So cool that you dig it!

Oh man, for sure. Larry was such a good soul. You can really get a sense of that from his book, Improvising and from the music film/documentary "Larry Coryell, A Retrospective", and, of course, from his whole great vibe. A sweet guy, sorely missed. Anything else you know of on Coryell I'd love to hear about. The first time I saw Larry was at Fillmore West in his power "fusion" trio days in April, 1970, about 9 months before the Village Gate LP was recorded. He was awesome. Second time was October, 1988 at Stanford University with a trio called Guitar Jam with Laurindo Almeida and Sharon Isben featuring a blend of classical and jazz guitar- totally different and again, amazing. Third and last time was in August of '88, this time with Ray Brown and Art Blakey- a straight ahead jazz trio. Three shows, three totally different styles, all amazing. That's great that you got to see him twice. I'd love to hear more about those shows- anything you care to share! And yes, Fairyland! What a great record. I hope you get a hold of a copy one of these days or a reissue would be great. It's fantastic!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
The only RSD title I wanted was the Mark Lanegan, and I got that online on Saturday morning. One of my go to stores is locked down so they’ve done an online RSD this year. It should be here sometime this week.“Do not postpone happiness”
(Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)
“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

You Am I - The Lives of Others
There were 3 different colours of this available, I went for ‘Ulladulla Sky’
I also picked up a white vinyl copy of Dilettantes, which was inexplicably missing from my YAI collection

Every vault has said "pre-order". I don't think they quite understand what a pre-order is at this point.pjpjpaul said:
