I havent seen the whole thing yet, just about 10 minutes of clips. But the thing I can't figure out is how in the world would she not know what she was getting into? Did she not google anything? Did she not ask Harry about life as a royal? Did Harry not tell her what it was like, and what it did to het mom? Did she just come out of a cave she had lived in for 20 years? If I was even considering dating a royal, let alone marrying one, i'd do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions. None of this should have been a surprise to me.
That doesn't mean she deserves it or I dont feel sorry if its true, just doesn't make sense that she wouldn't know what she was walking into.

I haven't watched any of it, but it would be downright odd if she a) didn't ask him and/or b) he didn't mention it. I would actually imagine it came up ad nauseum. But it probably just ended up much much worse than she/they thought it would.

it's like becoming famous in an instant. people tell you things, you can be as prepared as you wish, but everyone says it's 1000x more intense than anything anyone can explain to you.

The way the royals are treated / covered by the press is no secret, so naivety is definitely a weak excuse... but expecting Harry's family to accept their mixed race children wasn't asking too much.

Good for them to walk away from that bullshit.

I saw that clip too, that's just hard for me to believe. You're marrying into a royal family and you don't google or research anything about it? Doesn't seem realistic, people facebook their first dates, and they're just normal people, not royalty.

I didn't realize you had to "curtsey" to the Queen when you are seeing her as Grandma.  That I found believable from her.  I had no idea...

I'm not saying I don't believe any of it. I saw that part too. And how she said she didn't know she was going to have to curtsey until on her way there in the car and Harry tried to teach her right there or something like that. But that whole circumstance, aside from having to curtsey, strikes me as very odd too. You mean they didnt have a conversation like this:
"We're going to meet my grandma tomorrow."
    "You mean the Queen?"
    "Yes, that one."
"Cool. Anything I need to know before we go?"

I mean, really? I believe a lot of what she said, but some of it just seems too odd.

They went over that too but it was that day.  Meghan said " but it's your grandma?" to which he replied "It's the Queen of England"

Did she not know they were going to see her until that day? That doesn't surprise me, for her to have to curtsey. And doesn't seem like a big deal either. The impression I got from the clip was she was caught off guard by the fact she had to do it, like no one prepared her for the meeting until 5 minutes before it happened.

Some of this stuff sounds medieval and messed up.

I have nothing more to say because I have never had any interest in the royal family. And I don't understand why so many Americans do.

it's almost like Jake et al have realized their orange cash cow is gone so they need to win half their viewership back and heavily criticize the left while defending the free speech of idiots.

I fully expect non-partisan news folk to be impartial and criticize equally. but man, looking back, they gave trump a LOT more latitude then they have biden already, and we're only a month and a half in.

The funniest part was him saying "Piers spouts off every day and we all have to listen from 6:30 -7:00." Like its North Korea and a state mandated show to watch every day.

That makes more sense. I don't watch his show. I thought he had a solo show like Tucker, so I thought he was a guest on some other show when this happened.

The fall out here may actually  make a difference.  Now the Queen has put a statement  out which is a good one compared  to the past when this would be ignored.  Piers  Morgan has gone from my screen .  And people are now having the conversation  which is good about how nasty the press/media is and  race is being discussed  which is  good as well. This may end up a better situation  in general from this.

And the history  with the weather  guy is a long one of piers talking  over him and making him have to listen to piers spout his narrative.  So good on the weather guy.  Spoken from his heart. Real talk.

I never really thought much about the Royals and race until I met this elderly woman who used to work the book room in a thrift store.  She was always going on about how she entranced she was of royalty and English history and she often mentioned how big an anglophile she was.  She never overtly said anything racist, but I couldn't help but wonder what she thought of other races.  Maybe nothing big there, it's just that I've never met anyone else who described themselves as an "anglophile" (and did so a number of time over the years I saw here from time to time).  What's with that?
