Thanks Hugh, great call!  Do you recite everything you read on literally every MSM outlet?  Please show me where Trump incited an “Erection” (see Schumer) Remind me of that time Trudeau bolted your locked down country for Greener pastures.  Rules are Hugh, not for me.

I don’t know, I imagine a few of the Proud Boys  might have done some inappropriate things with their MAGA flags a time or two.

I am not sure if this has already been brought up, but I was just thinking about what I probably found most striking about the inaguration: how fucking RELIGIOUS and CHRISTIAN it was. I mean, it was practically like a church service from beginning to end. SO many Christian references, prayers, hymns, preachers, priests, multiple Bibles, giant Bibles... I was pretty shocked by it. Do Americans realize how totally weird and inappropriate this seems to the rest of the western world? Has the concept of the separation of Church and State been utterly abandoned by all parties in the US now? The inauguration made me assume so.... Although it did occur to me in a generous moment that maybe this was intentionally done for the sake of all the Trump cultists/evangelicals. ??? Did they decide to try and prove to all of them that the Biden adminstration hasn't been sent by the Devil? :pensive:
Anyway, nice moments aside, I found it pretty fucking disturbing.
I was surprised too; I thought it was de rigeur to eschew and belittle anything remotely religious!

Yeah, I think it’s all part of the pomp and circumstance of the occasion.

It's a fucking disgrace.  Between conspiracy theorists on every street and Christian lunatics who don't believe in evolution in every other house, a rational person in America is just constantly beset with alternate realities.  It's sad.

Maybe it's just me, but after watching Trump literally use religion as a prop (and even fail at that), and knowing that Biden is a deeply devout Catholic, I expected it and wasn't offended by it. It would have been nice to see an Imam and a Rabbi on the stage ("a Catholic Priest, an Imam and a Rabbi walk into an inauguration..."), but for Biden to have speakers relay the values he believes in, seems reasonable to me.

Why are people surprised that religion was part of the ceremony...The US leads the world in the number of people who believe in sky ferries...hard to take a country seriously when so many of them think sky ferries exist...

FYI, not all who are religious buy into the “big man up there” theory. Not all religions focus on a god; some are more about the soul, the spirit and life itself. Learning. Doing good or being kind for its own sake.

In fact, in hindsight, I really wish my dad didn’t have his pesky religion to get him through the years that saw his family be decimated because of their faith. The years he spent in a world war because of others’ desire/RIGHT to live freely, whether religious or not.

But let’s get back to mocking it.

By the way, “sky ferries” already exist; they’re called airplanes

seems to me someone also skimmed the article.

"....such maneuvers are not unusual as the US often moves transfers equipment between Iraq and Syria."

Ah yes, I totally forgot about the PJ forums' cohort of 'never-enough' liberals (they're hard to notice amongst the 'liberal boogeyman is coming for you' folks). Very considerate of you to give Biden two and a half days in power before criticizing the administration - were you this vocal and outraged when Trump dropped bombs for no apparent reason other than to show that he could?

Also, in the article sourced by the Tweet:
"Other local media report that such maneuvers are not unusual as the US often moves transfers equipment between Iraq and Syria."

Also, about the author of the Tweet:

I'm not going to colour my opinions based on the not-so-subtle insinuations of someone who's a self-professed "Hip Hop head" (a highly qualifying factor), who's somehow both well-informed and also anti-intellectual - and edits for the New York Post.
