I typically don't like GH records, particularly for artist like TP where I own everything he's done on vinyl. But this is a really well organized greatest hits. It's got a great flow without it being an "oldest to newest" type deal. Plus as you always get from the Petty family, tremendous quality and acoustics.1ThoughtKnown said:

Great album....I saw them do this album live a few years back for the 20 year anniversary. It was at the Vogue in Indianapolis. I was about 20 feet from them the whole time. Kickass live band.Attaway77 said:

Agree, excellent pressing. I like some “Best of” albums for artists I’m unlikely to purchase an entire catalogue. I’m a much more casual Petty listener than you. Did see him live at the SuperBowl in Arizona a decade or so ago and it was greatmrussel1 said:

I do remember it. Tom was excellent in concert. For too many years though, he bowed to the pressure of playing mostly hits at his shows. That was unfortunate because his deeper cuts are really, very good. He did break away from that in his final few tours. He had talked about doing a Wildflowers tour, but sadly that never came to fruition. I was lucky enough to see him on the actual WF tour in '95 in Tampa.1ThoughtKnown said:

Nice. That Wildflowers RE has me listening to more Petty. I’m sure that was an incredible show. I do appreciate his songwriting more as I’m older. His voice bothered me when I was younger.mrussel1 said:

One of the best records I own, to me.
No idea on value, but on sound and just...well it is one of my favorite albums.

Caught them in Nashville on the same tour and it was great. Love this album.Gern Blansten said:
