seeing the footage of front line workers getting the vaccine makes me very happy. hopefully it is as safe and effective as the studies reported.
Yeah. I was going to say I don’t want to grow a third arm or anything, but actually that might be really helpful in climbing, so...

I’m thinking my turn will come about February but we’ll see.

  • Im not sure its a failure  to need a vaccine. Look at polio as one example

Yeah, if I was going to make a list of failures in response to this pandemic, "having to be rescued by a vaccine" wouldn't even be considered.
What if this would have been a pandemic with no vaccine withing it's first year then?

I think it's scary the richest countries in the world couldn't get this under control/de facto kill this free reigning form of it.

    Scary stuff

Yes, it’s scary but that doesn’t imply that there realistically was a way for the whole world to get it under control without a vaccine.

Are gyms allowed to stay open?
  • We are now in the highest restrictions.
This shit is real. The  virus has mutated in the south here. They  say 1000 cases of new strain
    Who is saying this?

In a statement, Mr Hancock said: "Over the last few days, thanks to our world-class genomic capability in the UK, we have identified a new variant of coronavirus which may be associated with the faster spread in the South of England." "

I think this is important to point out as well....

Mr Hancock added: "I must stress at this point that there is currently nothing to suggest that this variant is more likely to cause serious disease and the latest clinical advice is that it's highly unlikely that this mutation would fail to respond to a vaccine

Yes. Our governor is an asshole. But make sure you pick up his new book! About being a leader during a pandemic. Even though the pandemic is not over.

I feel your pain.  I've listened to all of the explanations and there's nothing that will help me understand how indoor gyms are safe and restaurants are not (take bars out of the equation).

1.34% is the rate of transmission for indoor dining during this second wave. That’s it. It makes no sense.

    18,804,000 million people
    *1.34% rate of transmission
    *4.3% NY deaths/cases

    Well that's *only* 10,900 dead

What's the big deal?  Makes no sense....

Massage parlors, barbershops, nail salons, gyms all remain open. You can have your opinion, I’ll have mine. You work from home? I’d bet you’d have a different opinion if you owned or worked at a restaurant.

    Here's some math for you...

Over 300,000 dead Americans and not slowing down
300,000 who did not need to die
300,000 dead because the selfish pricks at the top care more about money then people.
300,000 dead because too many millions of Americans think it was okay to vote for a reality game show host and failed businessman.
    300,000+

I agree with you: Massage parlors, barbershops, nail salons, gyms should also be closed.

Here's what's wrong with your opinion: you think the shutdown only affects you. You think it only affects restaurants. It affects everyone. Yes I work from home, in commercial insurance, in risk management. Many of our clients are restaurants. Our client's business gets affected, our business gets affected.

Fair point for sure. To be fair I have a paint store. But I’m surrounded by a lot of restaurants and see how bad they’re struggling. It’s upsetting.
