A link to more information on the Health Canada website regarding the anaphylaxis issue and the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

From my read, there's no mention that the vaccine or manufacturing process includes any of the common allergens, so the anaphylaxis is probably either due to the subunit proteins themselves, or possibly a spurious result unrelated to the vaccine itself.

8% of our population will be vaccinated by the end of March in Canada just by the Pfizer vaccine alone. That is a lot more than I expected. For those that thought we had to wait until the countries that were making the vaccine to get all of theirs first what do you think now about how the Trudeau government is handling this?
Are 8% vaccinated now?  When it comes to Trudeau I’ll wait and see...he his a lier and the CBC is his lap dog

after-all the carbon tax was not going to increase according to Trudeau and his lapdogs...and here we are.

Trudeau is just a corrupt creep.

Thanks for the primary source link. I hadn't checked out that section yet. I forget what part of medicine your specialty is, but this sure seems up your alley Hope you've been getting some rock wall climbing in!

No climbing, sadly. The gym is open but I’ve been staying away with the hope of remaining healthy for the few people I will see in person this Christmas. I sure miss it.

A big day today in the fight against the Corona Virus in North America. Both the USA and Canada are having their first day of vaccinations being distributed to the healthcare workers and part of the vulnerable population.

It is estimated now that everyone that will want to be vaccinated will have been done so by September way ahead of what was previously said. The numbers seem to always be conservative so fingers crossed we can be ahead of that timeline as well.

i'm really fucking disappointed in humans today. the MB government set up a phone line for those first in line for the vaccine to call and make their appointment; this number was only distributed internally to health care workers. we have 900 doses at the ready.

the phone line got 100,000 calls in the first day (Manitoba's population is only 1.3 million). yeah, obviously the phone number leaked and selfish pricks who aren't on the front lines in health care called to try to weasel their way to the front of the vaccination line. there were stories of so many people deserving of the front of the line (ICU doctors and nurses) that couldn't get through to make their appointment.

i guess this was to be expected. but just so disappointing.

Failure (by the world) having to be rescued by a vaccine, instead of managing the pandemic without it and  having a vaccine to stop it from blowing again in the future.

Except for New Zealand and some asian countries, or whatever.

Yeah, if I was going to make a list of failures in response to this pandemic, "having to be rescued by a vaccine" wouldn't even be considered.

i see what he's saying. all we all had to do was get 7 billion people from all walks of life to agree to not leave their house for 3 weeks and not panic.

Rich nations, like Canada, have bought too many coronavirus vaccines: Amnesty International - National | Globalnews.ca

Math is not the Prime Minister's strength.  Corruption is more of his strength....
You're upset that Trudeau acquired too many vaccines?
Conservatives here were raging that he didn't get enough, now they are raging that he got too much. Even though it has been explicitly stated that we will be giving to less fortunate countries.

Turns out conservatives in Canada share many characteristics as conservatives in the US. One of them being no shame.
And more on that theme - conservatives last week were irate that Canada wouldn't receive vaccine until the first quarter of 2021, complaining that government incompetency meant we were destined to be one of the "have not" countries. Now that the process of review and approval  has gone smoother than expected and vaccine is expected to arrive next week, the conservatives are screaming that the federal government "lied" to the public about the timeline so "how can the public trust them on anything?". Getting your digs in supersedes being pleased about a positive outcome for the country.

seeing the footage of front line workers getting the vaccine makes me very happy. hopefully it is as safe and effective as the studies reported.
