That's kind of cold. Bestowing the sins of the parent on the child? Why can't the kid just be a kid and sing whatever song she wants to sing? I imagine those kids have enough mental damage already from losing their father due to suicide. Now they gotta deal with their mom and their dads friends waging legal battles against each other. I just hope the kids grow up to be ok. Who cares what song they sing. Especially when it's one written by friends of her dad?

Alternate take: she covered a song by a band whose members were good friends / bandmates with her father, and nothing could be more appropriate.
& if I had to guess, I would think Matt and the rest of the band were fine with it, if not happy / in favor of it; do you really think something like this would upset them?

All good mate, there is just a lot of those style post having a go at her all over the net, even in the comments of vid on youtube. I just don't think she should be exposed to that for posting a song, that poor girl has lost her dad. You have said that wasn't your intention, but I just reacted after seeing so many comments attacking her in that way.

I feel pretty lucky having seen him play a few live shows in the year before his death. Saw an acoustic show here in Victoria, and went to Seattle for a ToTD show. Not even on my radar at ToTD that it would be the last time I'd ever get to hear him perform live. Aside from Pearl Jam and The Dayglo Abortions I don't think there's any musicians I went too as much as Chris Cornell (and all his various bands).

I didn't pay attention to a lot of Chris' later work. I just got Higher Ground about a month ago, that is such a great album! He still had so much talent left in him.

Higher Ground is amazing!! I also wasn’t paying attention until he was gone. My loss. His solo shows sounded really damn good.
