What is expenaive for you for an hotel in Amsterdam? Its as expensive how much you decide to make it.
Ive told this in another topic, next to The Ziggo Dome is a trainstation. If you dont mind traveling for 25 a 30 minutes with a train you have other beautiful citys in the area like Haarlem, Den Haag, Utrecht, Rotterdam etc

My biggest concern is the introduction of last minute (i.e. between April 1st and date of concert) quarantine or other travel restrictions. A month ago, we (Australia) were on the verge of elimination and now Melbourne is completely locked down. Things change very quickly with this virus and I would be rather worried about having a ticket to fly to Europe from Australia, and then being required to quarantine in Europe or a country cancelling the show because of a surge in cases. The fun is definitely missing this time around.
The sensible option for someone travelling large distances to get to Europe might be to skip next year altogether.  Though I will wait a while before I click 'Refund' on my 4 shows.

So this is my 2021 plan:
UK to Amsterdam. F**king expensive hotel, 2 shows. Amsterdam to UK
UK to Berlin and back with my son.
    UK to Zurich and back
    UK to Copenhagen and back
    ???????UK Show??????
UK to Prague again with my son, hire car to Krakow, show, drive back to Prague, show, return flight to UK.
Luckily all 2020 flights were cancelled so used refunds to fund 2021 but will keep an eye on hotels as more expensive than this year!
u better take a train from Prague to Krakow.  The highway to Krakow is a nightmare ...
    Why? Was alright in 2018.

This bloody "highway" is being reconstructed for ages... running risk of jams and serious delays... its sooo tiring... ;) ...

to hope for a 2nd night or should i just go ahead and book the one night stay ? Thanks

Anything over £100 a night.  I get your point about it is as expensive as you make it but there doesn't seem to be much available under £540 within reasonable walking distance to the Ziggo Dome.  I also like to be close to the venue and you would be right to argue that I have to pay for my preference.  Prices are twice as expensive next year as they were this year and for comparison everywhere else I am staying on the tour, all close to the venues including London(??) and Berlin, is less than half of Amsterdam.  But you do have lots of beautiful cities and towns with Arnhem and Nijmegan being my favourites.

Book a separate single night at the same place with a free refund. That’s what I did

In my opinion the tour is dependent on a vaccine first being deployed in all developed countries.  (This is not to suggest underdeveloped countries should not or will not also have the vaccine.). The fact they are scheduling the tour suggests a reasonable degree of confidence in the trial data for the Oxford vaccine among others.  I’m booking concerts tickets and refundable hotels.  Definitely not overseas flights pre vaccine.

Agree.  I am willing to take some financial risk for some trip expenses that have to be reserved now and paid for now (mainly golf tee times and some cheap flights) but booking refundable hotels and not booking the costly US to Euro flights.

How was the public sale for Prague 2018? I really would prefer seats (as 2018 with 10c) so I am considering only to go for seats with 10c and in case I would lose (most likely) the drawing try my luck at the public sale instead of GA as second priority.....

While I am not sure about 2018 I will say I would feel safer getting 10C tickets whether they were GA or reserved over public sale for the shear fact that 10C will most likely always offer a full refund and there is a chance the public sale could be vouchers.

Agreed I bought vienna in the public sale as I wasn't sure I could make the original date and they are now only offering vouchers
