I think she believes that what happens within her country/constituency is more important than what happens within her political party apparatus.

She's doing the opposite of the very thing that democrats always criticize republicans for; she is putting country BEFORE party.
Fine, be an independent.  I'm not arguing that she shouldn't do what she thinks is right, but refusing to pay party dues like everyone else, while still gaining the benefit of the party apparatus is bullshit.  You're on the team or you're off the team.  Make a decision.  It's the same thing with Bernie.  He puts the D on when it's convenient.
Did you read the article? She's supporting members of the team -- just not always the members of the team that the coaches want on the playing field. She's leveling it a bit. That could be a good thing.

Also, the article mentions that the DCCC is not hurting for money at this time.
It's definitely going to ruffle some feathers and disrupt some status quo.

Interesting take but when she needs help she might not get it and the big D train might put their eggs in another D basket.
She’s a huge fundraiser. I’m inclined to think that she’d raise just as much (or maybe even more!) without the democratic party’s support.
That's fine but if the DNC would rather have someone else in that seat that plays well w the rest of the team they might be inclined to have her ousted and put their weight behind someone else.  You know, how politics really is.

    Then she could run Indy?

    Maybe?
What does she know about football?

Financially,  for sure.  Some are saying that she's going to challenge Schumer.   That's a tall order.  If she loses,  she may have missed filling deadlines for her seat,  leaving her out of Congress.

That's how you know it's a terrible idea.  I don't think she could beat him.  She's perfect for her district but things change quickly statewide.

Too soon to take on Chuck. Upstate voters won't go for her, yet. She needs to pay her dues, show she can work with the moderates within the party and find common ground with repubs, although that might be a lost cause. The senate is genteel and not full of firebrands. She could show some chops getting Sleepy Woke Joe's agenda through the House, which would set her up nicely for a statewide run.

Police reform? Criminal justice reform? Infrastructure? I’m sure there are some policy/legislation where she could find common ground. The repubs on the other hand? Not so much.

And she can appeal to rural, white working poor having backed Bernie, street cred to a degree.

Appears to have won her primary against a former CNBC host backed by Wall Street to the tune of $2 million. Guess she’s going to be around for awhile.
Her coffers and staff were even larger than the opponent.
Not to mention district and nationwide support.
Financially,  for sure.  Some are saying that she's going to challenge Schumer.   That's a tall order.  If she loses,  she may have missed filling deadlines for her seat,  leaving her out of Congress.
Well someone thinks that's a good idea....

She could show some chops getting Sleepy Woke Joe's agenda through the House, which would set her up nicely for a statewide run.
lol AOC common ground with Repubs!? in what universe?  They have completely demonized her near everyday before she even took her seat.
Police reform? Criminal justice reform? Infrastructure? I’m sure there are some policy/legislation where she could find common ground. The repubs on the other hand? Not so much.

And she can appeal to rural, white working poor having backed Bernie, street cred to a degree.
i didn't mean she would be the one that wouldn't try to reach across the aisle, I mean could you imagine the complete loss of R street cred to anyone that worked with AOC?

They have for sure.  And I wish they'd stick to real issues.  She also got elected by demonizing them.

I do hope we get past the culture you describe.  Someone is going to have to reach across eventually.  Being a former republican, I believe it;s going to happen when the Dems have total control and the republican party is smaller but back to it's conservative values.  Unsure when that will happen.

Yea, he needs tax breaks to create jobs. GTFOH. And this after his divorce where he paid his ex $89 billion or so. So yea, let the tax payers subsidize his obscene wealth.

Jeff Bezos added $13 billion to his net worth on Monday, the largest single-day jump for an individual since the Bloomberg Billionaires Index was created in 2012.

Amazon.com Inc. shares surged 7.9%, the most since December 2018 on rising optimism about web shopping trends, and are now up 73% this year.

Bezos, Amazon’s 56-year-old founder and the world’s richest person, has seen his fortune swell $74 billion in 2020 to $189.3 billion, despite the U.S. entering its worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. He’s now personally worth more than the market valuation of giants such as Exxon Mobil Corp., Nike Inc. and McDonald’s Corp.

At this rate, Bezos will become the 1st trillionaire. It's insane. With the money he has now, he could control most of what happens in this country for the next 20 years. Yuck.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Well, I wonder what the repub congressman blames for the uptick in shootings and crime in NYC? Was AOC out of line with her explanation, oversimplified as it was? Was there any truth to her statement(s)? I can think of several things to blame for the crime surge, inclusive of "responsible" gun owners.

Shes out of line with her reasoning most of the time. What a shame she’ll be a “famous” politician for the foreseeable future.

This is where AOC is wrong.

Shootings here are done with stolen guns.  So those people doing the shootings are not responsible gun owners.

    Your comments are ridiculous sometimes.

Let's hear your "why" on the crime surge.  I'm all ears.

Dude was out of line with the language but Ocasio is out of hers with that reasoning.
This is where AOC is wrong.

Shootings here are done with stolen guns.  So those people doing the shootings are not responsible gun owners.

    Your comments are ridiculous sometimes.

Let's hear your "why" on the crime surge.  I'm all ears.
Why are “responsible” gun owners allowing their guns to be stolen?
