    Oh no, really? Damn it..
90 years old. Belichick’s success has skewed things a bit, but Shula’s 25 year run with the Dolphins was pretty amazing. To put it in perspective, the Dolphins are currently 6th all-time in win percentage...despite sucking for the past 25 years. They were number 1 in win percentage at the time of Don’s 1995 retirement, and were so far ahead they maintained it for about a decade before falling behind five other franchises.

Only two losing seasons in 33 years as a head coach. Wild.

His SB victory over the Eagles after Dan Marino returned at halftime after an undisclosed delay is one of his least talked about achievements.

oh yeah that's right. I remember thinking before that i was going to see Cunnigham vs Marino. We lost like 19-13.

They were 4-1 when Dan went down, and finished 9-7. Bummer cause the Dolphins had a good team from 1992-1994. That was Dan's last chance at getting back to the Super Bowl.  Jimmy Johnson had some good drafts and his defense was good, but Dan was just about washed by then and they could never get the running game going.

Birds were in a similar position that year. 3-0 and then Cunningham went down in a win against the Jets.

I was watching the Packers / Patriots super bowl over the weekend ... bah gawd, I forgot how powerful Reggie White was.  I mean I knew, but I hadn't seen him play in decades and he was demolishing very big strong men that you could see had their spirits crushed by how much stronger he was ... a hard thought to process for huge 300 pound dumbos that have bullied everyone all their lives.

Also, Scooter McGruder is up their with Mookie Blaylock in the name department

It was also cool to hear Joe Madden call a game again ... which got me to thinking why EA Sports doesn't have an option for John Madden to provide commentary in a Madden video game ... huh, wonder if they can pull some strings to figure that one out?  That would boost sales by at least 30%

Goodell says they were wrong and will do more going forward.

I would like the first thing they did was to remove Kaps gag order.

NFL do that and we would believe you.

I'd welcome Kap on the Chiefs.  A highly capable #2 in case Mahomes gets hurt.  After seeing what Andy Reid did with Matt Moore, I can only imagine what he could scheme around Kap.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Kaepernick was on his way out anyways.  I dont buy there is any grand conspiracy to lock him out of the NFL.

He came on strong, but once film was out on him and the 49er offense, he was neutralized and bad.

Now he has been out for several years and is well over 30 now anyway.

He was certainly good enough to be a backup.  However, these NFL coaches struggle enough to keep the fragile lockerrooms full of 53 wild personalities of millionaires under the age of 35 focused.  Signing a backup QB, who will bring on an immense amount of media that would descend on the team 24/7 for kneeling is not preferable.  Not to mention other players would kneel, Im sure there are redneck trumpers in the lockerroom, etc.  Much easier to go with 1 of the 20 McCowns.
  • Glorified KCGlorified KC KCMO Native Posts: 2,495
Kap had 11 starts, with a 16-4 TD-INT ratio and almost 500 yards rushing at 6.8 ypa.  Doesn't seem neutralized or bad by those numbers.  Not to mention that was a terrible team around him.  His best days weren't in front of him, but he still had plenty of football left in him in 2017.  He's probably not capable of starting now, but is certainly deserving of a spot on an NFL roster, because I'm sure he can be one of the better #2's in the game.

Kawakami had a great piece recently on Kaep and why the stuff about him being done and not being worth a spot are just plain garbage.
Also something that is garbage is the line people use about him not being worth the money he demands.  Nobody has talked money with him.
All just narrative from people who don't actually know....and who mostly don't like a guy who wears an afro and mocks the police speaking up.
No doubt there was public backlash after the league didn't support him and the angry white folks threatened to stop paying money to the league and sponsors...but does anyone truly care about the opinions and dollars or those angry white folks over doing what is right, now?
    Not sure
    We will see.
I'm guessing the money of the angry (scared?) white folks still carries a hell of a lot of weight.

Question is would he be willing to sign as a back up for short money? If I recall that was part of the issue previously, he wanted starter money.
