I thought the spot was bad too, but god forbid the Bills come up with something on 4th and inches other than an Allen QB sneak. The Eagles would've easily converted with their lame (but effective) tush push, and the Chiefs would've did some misdirection roll-out run/pass option thing with Mahomes that also would've easily converted.

And it's not like it was crazy to mark Allen short on his sneak. He got stood up and pushed back. The ball might've gotten to the line to gain for split-second, but it was very close. I had no problem with him being marked short. Brady used to pick up those first downs all the time without any trickery or cheesy tush pushes. Maybe Allen should study his film.
Agree with all of this. The Chiefs had their push scouted and the Bills needed to adjust. Eagles will have to be ready for this (and yeah I agree our Brotherly Shove is lame - happy for it to work but I understand if other people can't stand it).
The only problem I have with the play is grown men actually saying the words "tush push" and "brotherly shove".

Glad you are such a much more manly man. You are very special. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I should have said adults, not 'grown men'.

Sorry I find those terms cringeworthy.

speaking of TB12, the prospect of mahomes getting three in a row and taking a little shine off the golden boy is something to root for.

Yeah, thanks.  I feel really bad for Allen.  He deserves better.  The margin with KC is so small, but they just havent been able to get that advantage or the #1 seed for the playoffs.  I dont think Mahomes is 3-4x superbowl champion, 4-0 in the playoffs better than Josh Allen.

It falls on McDermott's defensive philosophy and Andy Reid knowing how to exploit it.  Undersized, soft, reliance on the Nickel with a flawed pass rush and bend but don't break.

In order to beat the Chiefs, the Bills need to get that #1 seed I think.  (yes, I know they had the home game last year, but KC still got to rest a week or 2 while the Bills were in survival mode for 9 weeks and 5 defensive starters were out and they were down to their 5th and 6th linebackers).

It might seem crazy to can a coach with Mcdermott's record, but it's very reminiscent of Tony Dungy and the Bucs.
Could never get over the hump.
Canned him, brought in Gruden and immediately won the Superb Owl.
Belichick will be a legend in Buffalo once Bills ownership wakes up and makes that move.

Agreed on most of these points.

NE never won the Super Bowl without getting the playoff bye week... there's definitely something to be said for that week off.

I would be fine if they tried it...

I dont think McDermott is really the problem though, although I wish he would change his defensive posture.  Guys like Damar Hamlin, who are slow, have the physique of a high schooler, and wears a giant mushroom helmet cover are great because they are "process guys".  The front 6 is undersized.  No edge.
McDermott is maybe the best team culture guy, and always has his team pretty dialed in and prepared.
I would be open to a change, but probably not anyone who is realistically available.

*This was a retool year though as they had to eat a lot of shit on the dead cap.

If the Bills had Chris Jones this whole time, I wonder if it is Buffalo who would have all the hardware going for a threepeat.

Yeah, I was wondering this morning who they could bring in that might be better, and I agree... I don't know that there's anyone available who's better. Change for the sake of change isn't always the best course of action.

I was really surprised by the game plan on offense.  Why they didn't come out with a heavy dose of James Cook from the get-go was strange.  Joe Mixon diced them up pretty good in the divisional on a TD drive.

Back on your comment regarding the Worthy catch, we can agree to disagree on catch or not.  However, if not a catch then it would have been a first down on a holding penalty.

It does seem like they need a change philosophically on defense.  I've seen their defense play as well as any unit in the league, unless it's against Reid.  A lot of clubs had success slowing down the KC offense by playing the short/quick passes and clogging up the run.  I think as long as you have McDermott and Allen you'll keep knocking on the door.  Defensively they have to perform better against Reid.  Do that and I think you'll break through into a Lombardi trophy.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Buffalo deserves better.  You had very good teams in the 90s and could not get over the hump.  It was an era of NFC domination.  Now you have, what I would consider the second best team YOY, but you are running up against an all-time great QB and play caller.  It's pretty shitty.

Plus you got screwed in the Cup against the Stars.

    Sorted Superb Owl plans.

Stoked to land with my wife going with one of her girlfriends from high school, who she took to a number of the games with her this season.

This solution costs me half.   Also sees Mrs FMe going with a fellow big Eagles fan, and I think that will be more fun for her.  I wouldn't enjoy going to team parties the day prior/day of.  Now they can go nuts and get the full experience.

    Also, this costs me half.

They got a steal on the tickets as well....going to be in the 100 level on tickets from the team.

I think the Bills make a bunch of bad coaching decisions, like not taking points when they had them and running the same play over and over to the left. They could have won that game with smarter coaching. I thought Allen executed very well. I will watch the superbowl. But I will take my winnings for the season and walk away. I just hope it is a good game.

McDermott is always out coached by Reid in the playoffs.  Allen was mostly fine, but shaky for parts of the first quarter.
