    The Democrats are not the majority in Congress. They have the House not the Senate. It’s basically a split legislative branch (while the GOP controls the executive branch). In all, GOP controls the government, but can’t accomplish much outside of executive order or only Senate confirmation because the Dems have the house. 

    To be clear, the Admin has not been very proactive dealing with this outbreak. Whether to think it’s a threat or not, doesn’t matter. The country does not have tests to test people and us more of a reactionary plan to deal with the outbreak rather that proactive plan. 



    But sure, a musician’s letter to his fans, while living inside frustrated community that’s been devastated by the outbreak is the real outrage here.

    No Jimmy.  The Band(er...Eddie) made this a political issue.  And for no reason.  This administration stopped travel with China months ago when they were roundly mocked for it. This probably saved many lives in the process.  There is no playbook for an outbreak like this.   I think our government has done pretty well considering all the variables involved.   

    Jesus, someone isn't paying attention. Trump has botched this from the start.

    The members of PJ are Americans, not Chinese.  The shows postponed were in American and Canadian cities, not China.

    Pearl Jam has never played in China...  They did play Taiwan in 1995. If you know anything about history. Then you would understand why that is a shot at China. 

    BTW... The GOP does not run the Govt. Last time I looked Dems were the majority in Congress and the GOP is not mentioned in letter.

    They postponed shows in Canada.  Why not take any shots at the government there?  Or is Trump to blame there, too?

    Pretty soon they will cancel shows in Italy, Germany, England, Sweden and more. I wonder if they will take shots at THOSE governments in the process?  I think we all know the answer, though. However, if he’s mad at the way the US handled this, I can only imagine what Eddie has to say about Italy!

    Trump and the Govt are in a no win situation let’s just face it. No matter what he says he’s going to get crushed for doing the wrong thing. Every doctor and medical website is saying the same thing our parents told us to do when we were kids. Wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. This isn’t rocket science. Again if Govt got involved and made mandatory closing of schools/events all you liberals would say we should have our choice don’t tell us what to do. 

    All I’m saying is I’m sick of Ed’s politics. He’s wrong so many times and he’s never held accountable because he who he is. If he would have just said we are postponing the tour for the safety of our fans I would have been fine with that. But nope mister know it all Ed has to take a cheap shot at the Govt as well to make this a nice big political statement. Sad thing is that’s what democrats are all praying for now. If this virus spreads It will hurt the economy and then they can use that to demonize Trump.

     The fact you ended your message with basically "Dems want this and it's all to make Trump look bad" says a lot ....

    Ed and the Bands politics, activism, and concern for fan safety are all well documented. They have not changed in now almost 30 years together as a band, maybe you have?
