Four shows close by not enough?SB117186 said:London, ON anyone??0 -
Knowing asbury, I can’t imagine where they could have it that you would be really far away. Can’t be more than say wrigley being along the baselines, I wouldn’t think. Anyone go to this awfully named festival last year? I’m like 20 minutes away and never heard anything of it last year.mcgruff10 said:

Cool, cool. I’m in Heritage point now. Not a big fan of festivals either. Not keen on it probably being a football Sunday too but at least their set is probably at night. Since it’s so close, I guess I’ll go. I’ll be shocked if I care to see more than one other band in lineup. Hope they play a full set and not a festival set.mcgruff10 said:
Yeah still in howell, we aren’t going anywhere for awhile.GM151575 said:
You still on Howell? I lived in freehold, but moved to Howell now. I heard sea hear now from my source is a go. Nice to have a show 20 minutes awaymcgruff10 said:so we have pittsburgh and sea hear now festival pretty much locked up?
As close as it is I m gonna pass on the festival. Just not my cup of tea.
Yeah festivals just are t my thing anymore. Staring at a screen from a few hundred yards away just isn’t worth it to me.I am laughing thinking about the parking especially for non-locals that won’t know anywhere else to go. Going to be a disaster. Did they ever finish that parking garage? Parking is awful there on even a Tuesday night April through September is the weather is nice.Post edited by GM151575 on0 -

Those that don’t already know will be complaining later. It’s obvious if a big festival is going to go on, the organizers and town have full knowledge that there’s nowhere near ample parking for it among other things (like roads to get to it) . But you know, money. If the weather is good, it will still be mobbed there that weekend festival or no festival.on2legs said:

There have been no issues with this festival or parking over the last few years. Yes parking in town is rough but you can carpool take transit, or rideshare. Same amount of people on normal holiday beach weekends. For those bashing festival already you will surprised how well it is run and they allow re-entry.

The organizers really stress public transportation. Yes... parking will be tough but they survived Dave Matthews Band last year.GM151575 said:

It’s not like you’d would have far to walk wherever you found a spot (as long as you avoid certain west side neighborhoods.) Plenty of options in nearby towns as well or take the train. Another option is to park at the Seaview Mall and take a 5 minute Uber ride onto the city. The bus also runs from the mall right into the city. I live locally. I’m aware of all these things. I’m speaking about people that don’t know until they get there. I’m sure they’re expecting an area/location that would be suitable for such a festival, I wouldn’t really describe it as such.

The real question is... if this spring tour has any virus-related cancellations, when will the new shows take place?0

You’re talking this awfully seriously. I don’t care about the parking because I know my way around it. I don’t care about the other snafus that come with the location because I’m familiar with it. I’m imagining what it would be like for others that aren’t seeing as the location is not ideal for such a crowd on top of a regular beach crowd.on2legs said:

Staring at a screen from a few hundred yards away just isn’t worth it to me.I am laughing thinking about the parking especially for non-locals that won’t know anywhere else to go. Going to be a disaster. Did they ever finish that parking garage? Parking is awful there on even a Tuesday night April through September is the weather is nice. You know you’re fan base is getting old when all they do is complain about parking.Asbury Park is only one square mile. The options are not that bad compared to dropping $50 plus on parking in NYC for a few hours and walking 3 or 4 city blocks to MSG.You could apply the same logic to Yankee Stadium. Traffic and parking suck. Who’s bright idea was it to cram a baseball stadium into the middle of a Bronx neighborhood anyway? But thousands of people still show up 81 times a year and have a great time.0 -
I remember taking a ferry and then a bus to Randall’s island. Some really young drunk girl puked on the bus. Ah. Memories.on2legs said:

I live locally. I’m aware of all these things. I’m speaking about people that don’t know until they get there. I’m sure they’re expecting an area/location that would be suitable for such a festival, I wouldn’t really describe it as such.
The organizers really stress public transportation. Yes... parking will be tough but they survived Dave Matthews Band last year.GM151575 said:
Those that don’t already know will be complaining later. It’s obvious if a big festival is going to go on, the organizers and town have full knowledge that there’s nowhere near ample parking for it among other things (like roads to get to it) . But you know, money. If the weather is good, it will still be mobbed there that weekend festival or no festival.on2legs said:

As close as it is I m gonna pass on the festival. Just not my cup of tea.

That was also 24 years ago when I could care less about anything. Now I am like....do I really want to uber from seaview square mall or my parents house in neptune city just to see the band on a screen? I'd rather drive 6 hours to pittsburgh and see them in an arena.MF117973 said:

My friend and also my fiancee’s parents live in Neptune city. I’m going to park there and uber or get a ride. That’s after watching the Sunday football games at home or a local bar that is.mcgruff10 said:
