So how's the weather in the other parts of Australia? It's stinking hot here AGAIN! 37* in the shade (where our thermometre is) at the moment.

    good spot for a thermometer.

it's hot as hell here, don't know how hot exactly but i'd say 56 degrees.

    maybe less.

Haha! yeah, the other one that we got for Christmas is out in the full sun and I think it's broken, coz it's on 50* (as high as it can go  ) Although it feels like 50*, I know it's not.
I didn't turn the aircon on early enough today and it's really not helping much - I'm still sitting here sweating my boosies off :(

    I usually love Australia Day.

I've never ever given a shit about Australia Day. None of my family does really. Did anyone grow up actually "celebrating" Australia Day?

Our Boxer, Jamie Lee, died on Australia Day 2004. Now it's just the anniversary of her death.

I am drinking a few beers though. So I suppose that's pretty Australian of me! :)

We always have - FULL ON! You'll never meet a more patriotic person than my Mum :D
I can guarantee her and my Dad (and probably the dog :D ) will be dressed in all Australian flag gear today. They'll have Aussie flags flying everywhere. They'll have meat pies and lammingtons for lunch and a BBQ for tea .....burger patties in the shape of Australia will be part of the BBQ, too.
    :D

Ooh! Forgot the important part - Dad will be drinking plenty of beer and Mum will have a nice bottle of Australian wine.

Awww, poor doggy. I am so attached to my two dogs now, it's ridiculous. We're taking them on holidays with us next week because we can't bear to be apart from them.

One of my beautiful Gouldian finches died on my birthday in 2006 (30th January) so I know how you feel.

maybe one of the kids went for a swing, and sat on it.

LOL! Nah....was up there last weekend. If I could be bothered driving anywhere in this heat....it'd be to the beach. I'm thinking, if the Westerlies aren't too bad later this evening...I might take the kids to the beach.

No.....it's hanging off the side of it.....and the kids are all flaked out under one of the air con outlets, watching telly :D

It's no hotter than it has been most of Summer.....but I think because the nights aren't cooling down much, ya don't get that break from it, so it just seems so much hotter than usual.

Dogs aren't allowed on most beaches in Sydney. Also I don't think they know how to swim.

LOL.......Back in about Sept we went for a walk along our beach and we got to the end and theres a river there........
Phoebe picked up a handful of sand and threw into the river and Tilly mustve thought it was a ball cos she dived in .....she hadnt been swimming b4...she swam back to the edge and climbed out.....
Thank god the tide wasnt going out or else she wouldve been sucked out to sea...Just after Phoebe was born 3 swimmers got sucked out and drowned..:(
Its pretty dangerous if u dont know...
My brother in law threw their pup into their pool and it nearly drowned... pups cant swim......u have to wait so long b4 u put them into water...
