You were reading my mind! I was going to make a list of the things that would continue to make the $40 membership fee worth purchasing year in and out. Otherwise if they don't start offering things like this for that membership tier, everyone is just going to start renewing at the lower $20 membership tier, myself included.

I mean think about it, how many more people would they get to increase their membership commitment to the $40 level simply by making the show poster pre-sale an option? They could even offer this in a way that won't cost them much overhead if any at all in order to offer this option to the fans. Terms could simply be; If you're an Analog member and have verified fan club tickets to the show, you have the option to pre-purchase and pick up the day of the show. No S&H BS for them to even deal with. BOOM!

For as amazing as the fan club is, sometimes it seems like they miss out on some of the most obvious things they could be doing to keep it exciting for fan club members to see the value in continuing to renew their memberships every year. I'll be honest, it seems like over the past 10 years things have gotten kind of stale as they know they can count of X number of renewals simply because of the seniority perk when it comes to ticket sales.

They’ve done a blind pre-order in the past for the Backspacer tour. I took advantage of it for SF and the LA show I had tickets for. Wonder what the reasoning was for not bringing it back after 2009.

Probably the hassle of having to fill all those poster orders would be my guess. I could be wrong, but doesn't 10c do all of their own packaging and shipping in house? I could see how labor intensive that could be, not to mention monotonous. This is why I suggested in my earlier post that posters would have to be picked up at the show. Now those advance purchases are included as part of whatever heir normal tour merchandise logistics would be.

It would be awesome if they did.   They did do it in '09 but I think they said it was a lot of work to ship all those posters so they stopped doing it.   One of the drawbacks of being a smaller in house operation.
Ah yes, that's what I thought.

Oh yeah, i was thinking europe. I understand why you want to buy the posters online when i see these pics.
We were shocked at the difference... Longest line I ever experienced in Europe was for the PJ Pop Up Store in Amsterdam 14.., but that was the day before the 1st show. The actual line outside the Ziggo Dome was like the above Trieste... very minimal.

Below: Amsterdam 14 Pop Up Store Line.. It was several hours long..

It probably makes more business sense to sell posters at the venue since you might buy a t-shirt or some other items after having waited in line.
You could still easily get people to the merchandise counter by simply making one of the conditions when purchasing in advance being that the poster has to be picked up day of the show. Then you set up a table for the show poster pick up and have it conveniently located near the merch truck so when you're inevitably waiting in the poster pick up line, they'll be able to entice you with all the new swag!

I can waste 15 minutes in poster line. No problem.
Hampton 2016. We got in the merch line at 8:30 a.m., probably at least 70 people ahead of us. The truck was supposed to open at 1pm, it opened at 2:30pm. The once orderly line split into two and people who had been behind me got their merch before me. It was a disaster. If I can pre-order a poster for a show I'm attending sight unseen, I would do so every time. And yes, I do think the pre-order should be limited to those with 10c tix and my lottery win results are pretty crappy.

That’s a great idea. Foo fighters had a preorder option for their pop up shop in Chicago in 2018. Posters weren’t a part of it, but many T-shirts etc could be preordered

Sell online, but you should be able to buy the poster and shirt for the shows that you win in 10c lottery at the time you enter and win - that way you have to have gone to the said show. Since 10c is only 20-40% of the arena. Posters and shirts for everyone else at the venue. I dont want to cart that stuff around..esp in the GA..

I really hope they decide to finally let us buy posters and shirts from the shows online. I just can't justify standing in a line for hours to buy a poster and shirt. This would also cut down on some of the flipping and help get the stuff into the hands of fans who want a keepsake from the show. The ONLY thing I can see preventing this is the venue objecting, as they do take a cut from onsite sales.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2

The same fans that shout down anyone pointing out tickets are way below market value and that’s the only possible way it can be done for every ticket, have no issue with a band that goes out of its way to drive up the market value of its merchandise.

    What about the artists?

i thought the artist supplies the art for the show posters free of charge to the band and then gets paid from the proceeds when they do their AP release after the show.

If everyone gets a poster online before the shows who is going to pay for an AP?   I’m sure some artists will still sell out but a lot of artists might not be able to do that if there isn’t a demand.

Yeah... no argument there.  Just mentioning that lessening the poster demand interferes with the artist’s paycheck.

I think I was able to preorder my Portland 2013 poster. I may be mistaken though...I could be thinking of ACL 2009.

They do drop the posters online for 10c members
