I just think the Dems would be well-served to have his money, but better off without him in the race. Like if he was backing Biden rather than running himself, that would be a good thing for the Dems.
Biden is the one person in the race that would be completely run over by Trump in debates.

He is KISS on the second farewell tour
The one person? Or the most likely because he's old and stumbling and bumbling? I think Trump will bully the fuck out of all of them in the debates with the exception of Sanders. But Sanders is the guy with the polices Trump can attack the most. Really, if you could mutate Sanders' passion and speaking skills with Biden's politics, that'd be a damn good candidate.

Also, Biden, Bloomberg and Sanders are the only ones with a chance at the nomination (Biden's gets slimmer every day though). So in my hypothetical where Bloomberg just backs a candidate, he'd back Biden. He thinks, as the DNC does, that Sanders (based on his policy proposals) can't beat Trump.

I don't get Kiss references but I'll assume they sucked on their second farewell tour.

Fucking tone-deaf. He (or really, his staff) is trying to be like Trump with tweets like this. The difference is that Republican voters liked Trump and liked seeing him cut down likes of Cruz, Bush, and Rubio. People don't like you, Mike. Some people think you have the best chance of against Trump, but that doesn't mean they like you....

Eh....I actually laughed a little out loud at this.

    That was hilarious actually
I'll give ya "somewhat funny," but not "hilarious." Either way, to have such a miserable debate yesterday, cherry-pick this moment, and have your staff create a Trumpian meme out of it just isn't the best look.
Just Bernie blowing out hot air, Warren raising hand kinda and putting it down, Biden stupid face. Nothing to do with Bloomberg but it was funny

Well like I said to Cincybear, it's not about whether it's funny or not, it's just very, very Trumpian, and after such a miserable debate last night, just seems like a bad look.

I think it's exactly what he should be doing. Just because you had a bad debate, that doesn't mean you retreat and act scared.  You take what you think are your stronger moments and highlight them. That's what he's doing here.

I think Cincy and me are more the kind of people in the middle who he is gunning for so I'm not surprised we both liked it.

I'd still disassociate myself with that debate entirely if I was him. But hey, sure he was portrayed as racist, misogynistic, and out-of-touch during the debate. But if a sweet meme can come of it, I guess there's some silver-lining.

Why would starting a business have anything to do with being president? Where did this idea come from?

I know that the debate broke records in viewership numbers and everyone in the media dunking on Bloombergs performance.

But will it really affect the ones who makes him reach 15% in polls because they remember his name from daytime ads?

The tweet was weak. After getting absolutely destroyed last night this is his response "I've started a business".

He should pretend like that beat down didn't even happen. "Debate? What debate?"

I don't necessarily disagree that he should highlight strong moments. But what was so strong about this? Did you watch it? He didn't get a great response for saying that or anything. Seems a little desperate to highlight one line that got little response.

I'm in the middle too, by the way. So much so that I can't be affiliated with either of these godforsaken political parties (though I'm formerly a Democrat). I just think Bloomberg is more of a detriment to the Dems (as a candidate) than he is the savior that many think he is. Something that comes about naturally (like Sanders' support, or Trump's support) will win out over something bought, paid for, and manufactured like Bloomberg's campaign. But I've been wrong before I guess.

it resonated with the fools that bought trump's nonsense. he probably thinks there is an equal amount of morons on the left.

Exactly. Now the difference, in fairness to Bloomberg, is that he is actual good businessman. But perception is reality, and as you noted, Trump convinced people in 2016 that he was every bit as successful as a Bloomberg-type. So yeah, just another Trump/Bloomberg similarity. Bragging about their business success when that has nothing to do with being the president.

There is a difference.. I can tell you that New Yorkers seem to by and large like Bloomberg.  He did elected three times.  So he's not like Trump inasmuch as he has actual experience governing.

Because he is courting all the people who thought it was a good idea to elect a businessman four years ago, but have grown unhappy with the daily destruction of our democracy. He's not targeting leftists like you. He's more concerned about beating Trump in the general...which should be sort of important.

See my response above. A lot of people still think having a businessman in the White House makes sense....only this time, he is arguing that an actual successful one who doesn't take a jack hammer to our democracy on a daily basis is good alternative to Trump.

Democrats should be more focused on winning in November rather than wooing far left people by promising a bunch of stuff that has zero chance of happening right now.

I guess I mean that I find them similar as people: Out-of-touch, elitist, questionable stances on race and women...stuff like that. But yeah, the resumes couldn't be more different. Bloomberg has governing experience as you mentioned, actual success in business, and he's a philanthropist (as opposed to Trump who steals from his own charity). But I don't know how far that'll take him in this campaign.
