Why didn't the 49ers go for it at the end of the 1sr half? They had the time outs and time. Go for the field goal at least

I think we got our answer in the 4th, when the game was in Jimmy G's hands.

I'm more curious why SF got away from the run when they were up 20-10.

SB 51....ATL could have taken 3 knees and kicked a FG to go up 2 scores, boy genius decided not to run

The 4th QTR/OT of that game plus SB 54 4th quarter numbers don't lie...

I will say both of those games, PATS had a bunch of no call penalties to help climb back.....so did KC, that offsides on the DL was so terrible...Vinovich being there a year removed not such a good look

To a degree, refs shouldn't be making borderline calls in the Super Bowl... let the players play & don't let flags dictate the outcome.

With that being said, Vinovich's crew called the 2018 NFCCG between the Rams & the Saints.

It's safe to say the NFL doesn't take their fans or anything else too freaking seriously if they gave that crew the Superbowl one year after they blew the NFCCG.

This loss was not on the refs but there were some fairly obvious holding calls that should have been called on the Chefs and both QBs had contact made to their heads that gets called regularly in the season.  Also missed a big off sides on Chefs on a third down.

Hats off to Mahommes.  Dude is a champ in every sense of the word.

^Plus the obvious delay of game not called on that 4th down. Getting the penalty would have helped the Niners who were in disarray.
    This weekend we rock Portland

You're right, it isn't (didn't Obama once refer to 57 states in the US?).

People misspeak and say stupid stuff all the time, it's not a big deal.

But it's also very weird how no one in his camp, or even he himself can admit when he makes a mistake. It's all weird Dear Leader stuff which is... at best, very weird.

In a vacuum it isn't. But Trump has a history of trouble with geography in general, and when he makes these kinds of statements it demonstrates how little he cares about those he purports to serve.

And now, this. Again, this one wasn't a big deal. But his general stupidity and lack of care is. A very stable genius, my ass.

If you asked me 10 years ago if either of these teams would win another championship, I would have told you hell would freeze over first.  Now both have won in the past 5 years.  Take me now, I have seen it all.

    That is great to experience.
I've lived through super bowls, Stanley cup championships, NCAA championships, and a single world series title....the Reds winning in 1990 when I was in high school.
That is the one I want to experience again, the most.  If they make it to the WS, I am there for at least one game for sure.

So much fun to be a fan and get the W.  Congratulations

I was going to school in Lawrence when the Jayhawks won their basketball title in 2008.  The Royals and Jayhawks each won titles in the 80s, but I was too young too appreciate either.  I can’t ask for anything more from my teams now.  Hopefully, I can just enjoy the ride from here on out and not stress about how each of them has to build or perform a certain way to make it to the top.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Nope, but grew up a Reds fan on VT.  The farm team local to us was a AA affiliate of the Reds.  (Larkin, Kal Daniels, paul O'Neill, Chris sabo....jacl Armstrong....bunch of guys.)

ok. makes sense. Our AAA club used to be Yankee affiliated. Now it's for the Indians.

Which is kinda fucked up now that I think about it. We are the Columbus Clippers. As in the ships, that brought the Europeans that decimated the Natives......

in a weird way waiting so long makes the titles feel even greater.  When the Phillies finally broke the Philadelphia 25 year drought and when the Eagles won their first man i wouldn't trade those memories and moments for anything.  those 1st ones are just more cherished i think.  want more and more for sure, but those first when you are old enough to appreciate them can't be beat.

My wife and I moved out of the KC/Lawrence area at the very end of 2010.  It's interesting seeing how your teams are viewed in a different vacuum once you're outside of your hometown.  One thing I wish I could have done was gone to both of the parades for each team.  It was too difficult for me to work out given my circumstances.  I'm very happy for those who got to go and to see the city turn out the way it did.  Pro championships really are an invigorating thing for a city.  It makes me homesick sometimes.

I know exactly how you feel man!  From 2010-2016 I got 3 Stanley Cups and a World Series from two teams with the longest championship droughts in their respective sports. Now they both suck ass again, but man times have been good as of late.  Thank god I'm not a Bears or Bulls fan.

That's awesome!  Such an awesome feeling to see your favorite team win it all.  I grew up watching the 90's Bulls winning 6, saw the White Sox do it 2005 and the Hawks win 3 in the last decade.  Now I just need the Bears to win a super bowl ( I was 3 when the 85 Bears won so I don't count it.) and my experience as a sports fan will be complete.....but right now I have that same hell freezing over feeling like you had 10 years ago.  Maybe one day...
