They’ve also never played ballparks in support of a new album besides the one off in 2013

I wouldn’t call it unreasonable especially if they’re playing back to back multiple times this spring tour

    True.

+1 for Charlottesville. I lived in Raleigh (and had GA tickets) in '16, so to get a neighborhood show on this tour would be most welcome.
Charlottesville was my favorite show in the last decade.  It was absolutely perfect.  Weather, set, great venue.  I've seen about 15 shows at JPJ and I've loved them all.  Come back!

London isn't that big?  It feels like it was a Spokane kind of thing, where they do a random show in a smaller city.

I think it's Victoria, BC's turn :) Still... Because we only have 375k people in the Great Victoria area, it seems unlikely, but not impossible.

    I can get behind this
    Hamilton 05, 11, Cleveland 06, Toronto 09, 16, Buffalo 10,13, London 13, Seattle 13, Detroit 14, Milwaukee 14, Ottawa 16, Fenway 1, Wrigley 1
    Seattle 1 & 2, Missoula, Wrigley 1 & 2

    Fenway 9/15 and 9/16
    Hartford 9/18
    Sea.Hear.Now 9/20

that little run makes too much sense
I would have to strongly consider skipping Fenway and going to Hartford if these dates came to fruition.

After Toronto and Hamilton on this leg?  Detroit more likely.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

I don’t think they can do ballparks b2b nights. The grass needs to be uncovered for the day in between.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Fenway has back to back shows scheduled every year. Aerosmith on Friday and NKOTB on Saturday in September.

Also, in 2013 they played XL center in Hartford just days after 2 nights at DCU center in Worcester, which is exactly 1 hour apart driving and only 63 miles.  Then in 2016 they played shows at both Miami and Ft. Lauderdale which is just as close

I don't think 2 nights at Fenway would impact a Hartford show in any way

Hartford was actually 9 days after Worcester back in 2013. They played Brooklyn and Philly two times each in between.

Except it did in 2016 and 2018. Hartford went from being a regular stop in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2013 to being skipped.

Trust me, I hope you are right and they do play both. But history isn't on the side of that happening.

It was by a stroke of luck that they did, given the weather conditions. People were being sent back to their cars to wait out the lightning.

I'll never forget that...I had just shown up and walked up to the gate...and right back to the car!!!

Wait so is "Sea Hear Now Festival" all but confirmed? I'm looking for an excuse to check out Asbury Park. Even if it's a festival set I'll take it.

Hard Rock has closed or will close soon for a major renovation. Will reopen as a Virgin Hotel and Casino in the fall and will clearly need a major headliner to do a residency at The Joint. If they can sell out to Ticketmaster, why not Vegas?
The Joint would be amazing!! But that only seats like 2,000 or so. Seen a few good bands there at the Joint, but PJ is just too big for that place.

Don’t forget the MSG Sphere opens later in 2020. It’s basically the premiere concert venue in the world. Speakers in the floor and walls. Look up the renderings, it’s going to be sick. I’d love to see the outside lit up with the cover of Ten!
That would be freaking amazing.  But I think it's closer to 2021 to open date.

I don’t think it’s all but confirmed.  More like there are some rumors and a lot of wishful thinking.

In fact they have shows on 4 consecutive nights in August; Crue/Leppard on 8/25 & 26, Green Day/Weezer on 8/27 and Billy Joel on 8/28. The uncovering of the grass thing is a myth due to what Ed said from the stage. Sure they did uncover and water the grass on the off day between PJ shows, but that's not the reason the shows were scheduled with an off day between. The band would have requested the off day.
    This weekend we rock Portland

There really isn't a rumored list, at least not like we had for the spring. Yet. Just a long wishlist.

The Sea Hear Now festival is rumored. A radio DJ in Chicago was convinced Wrigley was happening. A ticket broker in Boston was convinced Fenway was happening. People in Philly are throwing shit against the wall and hoping it sticks. All or none of these shows may happen.

I think the only real rumours we have are a couple of drops on Houston and Columbus/Cleveland from people that know people that work at the venues. Wrigley got a mention by some DJ's but I really do not feel like ballpark shows are happening this year.

Confession:  Play me a recording from a ballpark and then play me a recording from an arena and I won't be able to tell the difference.  I'm no audiophile, but are people really able to do this?  If so, big props to them.

I'm not an audiophile by any stretch. It's not really the sound, it's the vibe for me. I love the South American stadium shows, but I've tried to listen to Fenway '16 and another one from 2018 and they're just not my thing.

  • Why Pearl Jam doesn't do Soldier Field, Metlife, Gillette Stadium, etc. boggles my mind.

Baseball stadiums should never host concerts.

The ballpark shows have been awesome.
